Tint has faided on both my right rear passenger window as well as my back window. There is a salvage vehicle at the parts yard that has the same windows in excellent condition. Wondering how difficult it would be two swap them. And how is it done?

Thanks!

Back window isn't hard. Fairly easy to pry out by starting from inside and pushing the seal out starting at one corner. Having someone on outside while you do this helps but they should pull too hard or they will bend the frame (aluminum I think). Not sure about middle window but once you get the trim and vapor seal off you should be able to figure it out.

I'm assuming that I have to remove the panels on the inside? Sounds like I just push the glass out?? Also, do I need any sealant when putting the new one in?

I just removed the passenger rear to re attached the bottom metal piece that attaches to the bottom of the window then to the motor arm.
I tried attaching the metal piece by not removing the window, fat chance. The metal piece attaches to the bottom of the window with a rubber gasket. Super tight fit, I mean tight.

Remove the panel
Put the window half way down if you can
Remove the 3 bolts holding the motor
Slide the motor arm out of the window track, there is a green little roller attached to the motor arm
Prop something inside the door so the window does not drop
Start removing the inner window gasket
On the top of the door is a little silver screw, under the outside window gasket, remove this screw then you can remove the trim that seperates the big window, from the little half window
Once this trim is out, you can slide the small window forward to remove it
Remove the rest of the inner gasket
Now put your hand inside the door and with your other hand pull the window out

Reassemble in reverse order.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Concerning the rear windows, You push the whole window assembly out including the attached gasket. No sealant when putting them back in. Just spray the gasket with some soapy water, wrap a paracord or similar diameter rope around the whole thing with a little over lap, and have someone hold the window in position as you pull the cord from the inside. As the cord is pulled in the gasket should slide back over the frame.

Having removed my rear slider several times - If seems easier to start removing the seal with the window open but you run a big risk of damaging and kinking the frame. It harder to remove with the slider closed but the seal will not get damaged. Starting at the center of the bottom and working my way out to the corners worked best for me. Plastic chisels and wood tongue depressors helped a lot in avoiding frame damage.:hillbilly:

YMMV
