Greetings gentlemen. I'm new to the forum and I'm wondering if anyone knows a good shop for my 89 fj62 in the Mobile area. Issues I'm having are:
1. Speedometer doesn't work. Don't know if I need a new cable or just some lubricant
2. Electrical is a little goofy. 4wd light never goes off and check engine light comes on occasionally for no apparent reason.
3. I have questions about my suspension. Looks a little saggy. But I'm not sure if it's fine or I need new shocks or springs or what. I'll attach some pics.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

Speedometer issue is likely a broken cable or a stripped speedo gear in transfer case. Both are easy and relatively cheap fixes.

4WD light never goes out - does the 4WD vacuum switch on the firewall work properly? These vacuum switches often fail and the switch will allow engagement of 4WD but not disengagement unless the vacuum lines are switched.

Suspension looks stock. If you want an unsagged suspension you'll have to replace the springs.

Welcome!
And ditto what Godwin says. In fact, if Godwin said anything regarding the 60-series... I'd say "ditto what Godwin says"... he is the God-father of 60-series! Quite possibly in the entire US!

Where are you in Mobile?
20-something years ago, I lived there, went to Davidson my 10th grade year, then we moved to Dauphin Island and I went to Alba High 11-12.
My sister still lives there just North of Tillman's Corner.
I know there are folks down that way that know more than most about these rigs, but I don't know any to suggest.

I'm in Pensacola, I've got a couple people this way that have done welding work on my 40. One or two guys in a Toyota club over here have 60s but I think they are alittle further west like crestview fort Walton area I will look up the info on them north west Florida Toyota 4wd club on Facebook. Also a guy that posts up on Craigslist in the Pensacola area says he works on Toyota 4x4s and can do many things on the older 4x4s including motor and trans work

Try f&d autocare. That's where I take mine if it is something I can't do myself. Really Nissan z car specialist, but good and honest.
