Need 45 Rear Tank

If you go the Blazer route, you need the tank from a two-door model (Not the 4-door). They are relatively easy to find in a salvage yard or you can buy new ($56 to $98 on RockAuto).

Skip, I fabricated some brackets to weld onto the crossmember. These hold the OEM Blazer tank straps .

If I may, I would encourage to to consider using the Blazer fuel pump and sender assembly. It will fit and work very well.

Morning,
I went with an old Con-ferr tank style setup for the FJ40 in my 45. Mounted behind the rear shock mount, flush with the top of the frame and ran the fuel lines down the inside of the passenger frame rail. It took some time to configure, but it will be well worth it in the end. BTB sells a similar kit.

I did the same. Tough to route the exhaust out of the rear, but it fits very nice. I welded a filler neck from a 40 into the bed side since my bed is just home built.

I run a rear mounted Long Ranger 22 gallon tank in the 40 and was thinking the same would be a nice addition under the bed of the 45. It looks like MAF has their own version of it now without all the necessary valves, switches, etc. for a butt load of cash.

Any reason this wouldn't fit under the bed in the same location as the 40? My spare tire is no longer under the bed.

Even if I lost my mind and bought this I'd need to leave it out in the weather for a year, beat it with a chain and pour beer on it to make it match the truck...

Just found it ... one for $56, one for $99. And one for $107. Delux model. Free shipping over 100 bucks. You know what one I will choose.

A little more info for those that are looking...

I made the lower straps from 2" x 0.125" flatcar. A 90 degree bend on each end and then bent to fit the tank. A simpler solution might be to search for OEM at a Pick-and-Pull yard.

The fender flares are from Aqualu. #4038 Rear Fender Flares - Large

I had a feeling the fender flairs were Canadian, sure like um. As for the straps TNX for the suggestion will get to work on um.
