Hi everyone,

Great forum, I’ve used it a lot for research, but this is my first post. Just another noobie here looking to join team 100.

What I’m looking for:
- 2003-2007 LC or LX
- Within 300 miles or so of Richlands, NC.
- ~150k-ish miles
- Light on rust
- As stock as possible
- Budget is around $17k

Let me know what you have!

Looks pretty comprehensive. Always a good sign when owner does interior seat/trim repairs at the dealer.

What happened with the 06 LX in GA w/200k miles? I saw that the previous deal had fallen through. Seems like it would be a good fit for your needs

Pictures and docs seem on the up-and-up. I don't see anything that immediately screams run away.
Thanks! That’s what I was thinking. Going to check it out tomorrow I think, I’ll keep you posted. Only thing I saw is it seems like it might need a timing belt soon...

I talked to him yesterday, said a guy in Chicago wanted to ship it up there and stopped responding to me...maybe he’s a busy guy...

I wouldn't be surprised if he took an even higher offer. I saw that he was backtracking on his original price. I personally wouldn't want to do business with someone like that. The guy I purchased my car from kept good on our agreed on price even though he had gotten higher offers in the aftermath.

Yeah, definitely not a great vibe when someone ups their price...

Yeah, already been branching out a bit. I considered this one on eBay. Gave the dealer a call they said $17,500 with new carpet and fresh leather in the 1st and second rows from LC Heaven. Good deal?

The same truck is listed on Facebook marketplace for $15.3k

Yeah, they redid the carpet and leather. After posting the Facebook. The undercoating threw me off...rather get something where I can see a little rust than one that’s been painted covering up who-knows-what

Thoughts? Looks pretty good to me...

Story time:

So I was the first person to contact the dealer about that Sand Dollar LX. I set up an appointment and was on my way to look at it today, I’m over an hour and half into a 2 hour drive with my wife and puppy in the back, and I get a call saying they had just sold it to an out of state buyer for over the asking price.

Again.

I let the sales person know that that’s unacceptable, because that’s no way to treat customers, especially when I had an appointment to see it. The sales manager calls me, I say the same thing. The store manager calls me, asking what he could do (afraid of my scathing Yelp review I’m sure) and I told him short of letting me see the truck and get my chance to buy it, nothing. He tells me the transaction already went through, so there was nothing he could do. Then he promised the next LX or LC they get he’ll not only give me first dibs before it’s on the market but he’ll ship it to my house so I can look at it. I’m not holding my breath, but if a 100 series shows up in my driveway I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Had the chance to buy this truck this Sunday and then again yesterday. That dealership is run by a bunch of shady and incompetent nimrods so I ended up passing on it yesterday after they offered it to me again when a local appointment didn’t show up on it. Dumb and dumber running the sales department, from the GSM on down. You probably dodged a bullet dealing with them to be honest.

Yeah definitely left a bad impression. Seems like these trucks sell themselves, there’s no reason to wheel and deal and treat people like they do...

Well, with the prices of nice 100’s being almost that of a decent 200, I went and just bought a 2010 that was for sale locally. I still love the 100 series, but after driving it home I have no regrets. Thanks to everyone for your help! Here is a pic of the new ride, came with a set of BFG KO2’s already mounted as a bonus.

Mind sharing what you paid (ballpark) and how many miles? I am in NC and having a similar debate whether to just grab a 200 or deal with the 100 market
