Thanks jsloden on recommendation. Took a little longer to receive screen but paid around $90 with shipping-deal! A couple of things I did / observed. There were 4 tabs/ screw holes on back of new screen I snipped off. Also there is a 3 wire plug going to circuit board I tried to pull off and broke. Re soldered. Probably should have left alone. I think only 4 ? Things need to be unplugged once entire unit out of vehicle.

Did mine today. Thanks for posting this or I would have broken that 3 wire connecter, too. Thanks to everyone for figuring out such a cheap, great solution.

Sorry, missed your earlier message. I'd just read through the thread carefully. It's not very -easy- and pretty painstaking. You end up with two 'halves' of the assembly connected by that cable that Metalize said not to try to pull off and it's just working the screws around that.

It took me three tries to get all the ribbons seated properly, so if you do the swap and don't get a picture, keep trying.

I don't see a 3 wire connector. Did yours look like this?

Just take your time and very careful. You should be able to determine how everything comes a part and goes back together once you have it out.
