What snti rust or cleanup solution did you use?

I used rust converter. Importantly, rust converter do not work if there are no rust. If there is rust build-up, just wash with detergent to remove loose particles and dusts. Rinse well with water. Let dry, then apply rust converter. Use more of the solution if heavy rust build-up. Note: do not sand or wire brush before applying the solution. :bounce:

Great work! Looks very nice:clap:

Beautiful work on the headliner. What type glue did you use on the widow and door edges?

Any tips on what to-do and not-to-do after having completed this? Any advice is appreciated. Hopefully mine goes back up this month.

Thanks

Installation was all done by the upholstery guy. The glue used was ordinary contact glue or cement. Just make sure you apply glue on both surface of the material you want glued. He used a small patch of sponge to spread the glue. Let it stay for a while. He did not want to work during night time because of the temperature. Contact glue works well on hot weather as it dries up in 30 minutes or less.. He started with the rear portion and worked towards the front. He then worked on the center portion and gradually moved front and rear in an alternate manner. He also marked all holes for the handles and lights including the rear view mirror and sun visors. Follow the sequence of the photos I posted. I wished I could have taken more detailed photos.

Apply glue on both sides of the window and door edges and not only on the outer side. I watched him doing the stretching and sticking from the inside first working his way out for the final trimming and folding of excess material.

Some wrinkles you see on the headliner will disappear in time as it will shrink due to the high temperature absorbed by the roof. This according the the upholstery guy. He does not recommend pulling the headliner too hard on the sides, rear and front. Before applying contact glue, mark with a pencil or pen the edges as a guide to applying the glue. Also take note. Once the glue is applied, the headliner, depending on the material, will normally stretch.

A insulated material was already in place. This is the type of insulation that is being used in commercial and residential roofing. I would say the previous person who worked on the headliner stuck this to the roof.

The lens of the indicator on my dash panel is broken or melted. Probably due to heat from the light bulb. So I tried to look in the internet for a replacement but with negative result. Here is my temporary solution.
