My office's garage has a strict 6'5" limit; options with respect to a lift, wheels, tires?

I am new to 100s, and I will be picking up my 2006 Cruiser (w/o AHC) next weekend. I had planned on lifting it 2.5 inches, getting a set of TRD 17 in wheels, and Cooper All Terrain tires, but I think I am going to run out of room in my office's parking garage. The height limit is strict on account of low hanging pipes for the sprinkler system.

Google tells me a stock 100 is a hair over 6'1". With a 2.5 lift, I will be at approximately 6'4", leaving me two inches for the wheels and tires. With my plans, I think I am going to be over, right?

I would think you will be over. With a 2.5" lift and assuming you are going with a larger tire (33"?) and then you need to account for the stock roof rack (which adds to the 6'1" you found online).

I have been in a few parking garages where there was less clearance than the bar indicated when it came to coming over ramps and things...

Any other parking options?

Park the cruiser at home and buy a beater car going to work or a motorcycle. Just my 2 pennies.

I will not even consider pulling in a parking deck under 6' 8' .. You might could get by with removal of the factory rack but the fact maybe time to change jobs so you can drive the cruiser every day...

Two options:
Get another truck with AHC ;)
or Park on the street, like a real Truck.

What's wrong with 1.5" lift, and 35" tires. That's 1.5+2=3.5". +6'1" makes it 6'4.5". Or go with 34" tires for 6'4" height.

I would prefer to go with 33s, but I am willing to compromise if necessary. Unfortunately, I need to go to work for the foreseeable future.

That was one of my questions. I wondered if the vehicle specifications included the stock roof rack in the total height.

I used to drive a motorcycle to work almost every day, but after handling a few cases involving motorcycle accidents (I'm a lawyer), I gave up riding. Yes, I'm a little bitch.

You hiring?

I think a 2.5 lift would be more suitable for the trail system I plan to hit up on a regular basis (Ozarks). I will have to think about this some more, but yes, a 1.5 lift is an alternative I am considering.

I might as well introduce my new baby:

I just put a deposit down on her an hour ago, and I plan to fly down to Austin next Friday, spend a weekend drinking and catching some good shows, and drive it back Sunday afternoon. 99,000 miles on the clock, no accidents, single owner, timing belt replaced a year ago, and lived in Texas all of its life. I ended up paying a hell of a lot more than what I initially budgeted when I decided to buy a Cruiser a couple months ago, but I'm happy with hit. I like to drive my vehicles into the ground, so I think it is worth it to start out with a solid Cruiser.

Is the video unit factory installed, very nice find you got there. Did you look at LX470 or 570?

Depends on your life(style) in general - not just work. How often will the truck be in other parking decks - airports, malls, downtown offices... My 100 has 2" springs and 33s. I fit in the majority of decks. But when I had the Yakima roof rack, I needed 6'8" or more. I was always hunting for parking.

Maybe do the IronMan 2" system and 33s.

Nice baby.
Sounds like you are stuck with it for the next 30 yrs; feeding, buttering, cleaning, rescuing and doctoring.

Too bad you don't have AHC, cause it's ideal for this! I use it for this very reason, especially so when I have ski's on the roof.

My '00 with 30mm spacers, 295/75/16's and OEM roof rack occasionally kisses the exit signs in the 6'7" garage at work. The antenna always slaps the warning bar...

2000 LX470 w/ OME 2865 springs and 285 tires (33" roughly), otherwise stock, came out to 6'-5" to the top of the stock roof rack. No weight to bring it down yet.

Thanks for the encouragement. This gives me confidence that I will fit, especially if remove the factory roof rack. Of course, before I send monumental or make any modifications, I will sit down, do the math, and talk to some knowledgable people. But this gives me some confidence.

The wife got me one of these for Christmas last year.

I didn't know what I was going to use it for, but it's awesome for keeping in the truck and checking the height of garage obstacles.

What I recommend is actually measuring the low clearance portions of the garage to see if it is actually 6'5"

Second, when you get the ride, drive it in and check the clearance, especially at the ramps/inclines. Then you will know what you are working with.

The givens in your post would require AT LEAST removing the roof rack and deflector. That said, running the front at a full 2.5" lift doesn't ride all that well imo, especially off road (no droop). So plan on 1.75 front lift and gauge rear spring rating accordingly

Nice score neighbor. You just can't find a 100 that clean here in KS.

First day at work with my new-to-me Cruiser. I'm not sure I will have much room to work with even after removing the factory roof rack. I think the garage operators are being a bit optimistic with their 6'5" limit:
