@M1911 are you on ar15.com? That story sounds familiar...

:hmm: with a name like M1911, I wouldn't be surprised! Cruisers and guns, these are a few of my favorite things...

Nice ride, by the way, OP.

I followed your saga with the 4R on Toyota-4runner.org. It was a rough affair to read from afar, so I can't imagine the feelings having to deal with it in real life. I look forward to hearing your impressions/ opinions on the switch to the LC200 as in a few years my wife and I hoping to make the same leap and pick up a 2-3 year old 2015. (Luckily our 07 4Runner is in great shape but I won't lie and say it's not without some diligent undercarriage maintenance to prevent the rust issue... amazing what a combination of POR-15 under Fluid Film and some eastwood internal frame coating can do to preserve a frame and control arms.

Well, compared to the 4Runner, it's big. I'm still getting used to the size. I didn't have a rear view camera in my 4Runner. The surround view and rear view cameras in the LC are a big help with parking, but I think parallel parking will be an adventure.

Visibility in the LC is good. The belt line is low, the windows are big and the pillars are small. I'm in my 50s, so I'm greatly appreciating the HID headlights at night - I can see much better at night.

The LC is much quieter than my old 4Runner. The steering is accurate but has zero feel. The ride is better controlled than on my '03 - my springs were too soft and the shocks were under damped.

Yes, there's an amazing amount of Mud members on arfcom, and vice versa. Also quite a bit of overlap on homebrewtalk too. Guns, beer, and toyotas just go well together.

Thought people who like guns and beer don't drive them foreign cars ...

That hasn't been my experience, and I know a bunch of gun owners.

I've got a bunch of guns. I don't drink anymore, but I drank my share of beer. The only domestic vehicle I've owned was the first car I bought, a '78 Trans Am.

Most of my fellow competitors are in the high tech industry, and they drive the same kinds of vehicles as other people in the high tech industry. Lots of Toyotas and Hondas.
