Looks great! About all I would do is put an OME mild lift on and 33's Congrats.

My 55k mile fj60 is on the way!

It's on the way!

Wow! That thing is in crazy good shape! I have an 84 fj60 same color. I hope mine looks even half that good after frame off restore.

Nice grab.

I wish you the best of luck...this deal would make me nervous...if it sounds too good to be true...

Hooray! Got the 60 about an hour ago.....11:00 at night, freaking transport drivers.

Anyway, absolutely amazing condition. The frame is still factory black, not even an ounce of surface rust.

It looks basically untouched. Got lucky I think.

But.....the power steering pump is really loud and it looks like some genius put motor oil in it? It's definitely not red and it looks like it's leaking in a few places. Drain and put ATF in it?

It's absolutely bone stock and not even a hint of surface rust.

Here's the question, I paid a little over 10k for it, impulse buy, how did I do? 55436 miles, original 1 owner with receipts from day one.

Wow, it looks just like mine. Brown is down!

I inherited mine so I don't know what the value is, but I had a local cruiserhead tell me it could be worth more than ten grand, so that doesn't sound too bad. I just wanted to know what I should insure it for (stated value policy since it is registered and insured as an antique/collectible).

If it had something other than ATF in the pump you probably need to flush it with ATF. I was in the same boat, as my grandpas mechanic had put power steering fluid in it. I used a fluid vacuum pump I found at the hardware store meant for sucking the oil out of lawn mowers. It makes flushing fluids a snap.

I just turned over 42K last week, but my engine bay is nowhere near that clean, and my paint is jealous of yours. Also I sadly have a few dings, and a dent on the roof from where my grandpa dropped a water ski on it a long time ago. I'll probably leave that dent just for sentimentality.

That looks like a crazy good find to me, but I'm a bit biased toward the brown round eyes ;)

Wow, you stole it! Some one should put you in jail for that. I think you have a $15-20K cruiser easy. I would insure it as a collector / classic and have an evaluator come look at it to make sure that they will insure if for as much as you can. I would go $20K+ if you could. Because if something happens to it, it will cost that much to replace it with something similar.

I hope that this is your second or third vehicle that way you can keep the miles a bit lower and when the bad weather hits or when rush hour driving you can leave it at home. I would also get an alarm for it and maybe hook up some kind of anti-theft secret kill switch somewhere.

I'd love to see a couple more detail pics of that cargo liner myself. I just ordered the set from SOR and need to install it! :)

No rush, whenever you have time...

Wow, nice find. I'm the original owner of my 88 with 142K, and I wouldn't sell it for what you paid for yours. Mine is in amazing shape as well, but has frame rust per the northeast. Not much tho.
$20K? That's crazy I want only the best collector status pricing imho. You're talking original msrp.
I think you did well, and I would spend the requisite money to bring all the 24 year old mechanicals up to near perfect.
Congrats!
Nick

I wanted to know more about your rubber floor. I found it at SOR for a pretty good price. Specter Off-Road Land Cruiser Parts - Page 345 Land Cruiser Floor & Cargo Liner

But I was wondering if you could take some more photos of it around the back seat and under the front seats to see how it goes in and how the seams look.

I was also wondering if it is put in over your carpet or put in instead of your carpet.

Sweet truck, super jealous.

I will get some pictures tomorrow of the liners. As well as some other shots. Thanks

Ok, I thought I would do a little recap on the new cruiser.

First off, when the transport company called me at 11-11:30 last night to tell me he was sitting in the walmart parking lot ready to deliver the LC I was a little surprised to say the least. He did call at 5:00 telling me it was possible he would deliver it to me that evening but 11-11:30 was a little strange. Sooooo, since I have two young children sleeping at that time I couldn't have my wife pile them in the car and run me to walmart. I then realize I'm going to need to do this on foot, at night, 15 min away, windy, 6 degrees, FUN. I show up and the two front tires are flat and the battery was dead. He told me he accidentally left the key on and he needed to flatten the tires for some reason. Honestly, he was hard to understand and I was freezing my butt off. Anyway, truck driver wants to leave and then he asks me for a tip??? I said, it's 11:30, my two front tires are flat and my battery is dead are you serious??? He then drove off. Long story short, I got a jump and limped it home.

Today I drove my first 60 series and really enjoyed it! I started by draining my power steering because of the motor oil that was in it, I replaced it with royal purple full synthetic ATF and bingo power steering was back and quiet. I aired up the tires and then went for a drive.....well, I realized I was in 4th gear doing 25 and I thought that was strange. Yes, it was in 4LO for some reason, I shifted it to 2H and drove it for another 45 minutes. It was very tight, no rattles, really wonderful and to say the least very relieving. Sight unseen purchase worked out great....this time. A/C works, score.

Tomorrow I'm going to detail it a little more and I'm going to take some pictures.

In closing, great day!

Man, I feel bad that you had froze your butt. But at the same time you stole that nice, low miles, FJ60, so part of me is happy!

And yes, we want pictures!!!

Very nice find! The wrecker likely flattened the tires for clearance (bridge, etc.) but still not cool about the bad service.
Again...nice score and enjoy!
