Well, since I have the lift in...it kinda looks like the 33's are too small now. So...my new project is to make these 37" BFG Krawlers fit.

It shouldn't be too hard. Rear is fine, might have to trim the mudflap. Front will have to lose the bumper, but that's ok. I have one coming from Allpro that gives more room. They just touch the upper A-arm, and might rub a tiny bit on the frame when turning, so a set of spacers, or different rims will be in order. The only other thing I will have to do is trim the body mount that is right behind the front tire.

They barely stick out, so I won't have to worry about wider flairs.

You need to check how it fits at full compression & full lock.

Not much up travel/articulation. Looks neat though.

With the new lift, it has a bit less travel than stock. It will rub. I know that. But my 5Runner is on it's way to being back on the trails, so the Cruiser will be mainly on the street. Wonder how long the softer rubber will last.

There is about the same space above the tire as the stock suspension.

You should probably talk to Terry at AllPro. He is running 35's and still gets a small amount of rub with a 3" lift.

Was actually just talking to them...trying to find out where my bumpers and sliders are.
I would imagine that they have more flex on theirs, if they are using all the products that are available. I don't have the tubualar A-arms with the spherical joints on them. I also don't have the longer shocks yet.
We'll see how it goes. If they rub too much, it will be easy to sell them, and just get some Iroks or whatever.... It was just too good of a deal to turn it down.;)

Do you happen to know if they trimmed the body mount? I wonder where they are getting this rubbing. I figure the only places I'll have issues will be the body mount (which I'll trim as soon as it stops raining) and possibly some slight rubbing on the frame itself when the steering is cranked. A-arm rubbing will be solved with spacers, or better rims. And they may rub on the bottom of the flair on full stuff. That may be a bit more difficult to deal with. I thought I could make a tube flair to replace the plastic one. I saw a pic of one on a FJ 40 on this site, I believe. Looked pretty slick.

You can also speak to 4crawler (Roger Brown) and see if he can help you with an inch or so body lift. Then you just need to clean up the bodymount in the front and some odds and ends. Might even work.

How is the power with those and no gears? Agressive 37s seems a bit much for the street.

lookin SWEET!! i think 37" crawlers are perfect for parking at the mall!

it looks like it will be fine, maybe some bump stops.. Mad Props for being one of the, if not the first to have 37's on an FJC!!!

Look exactly like it should have come stock :D

You have a great FJC... now you need some 37" action shots....

Besides the Ultimate FJ in the magazines (with 39" Krawlers) I haven't seen anything bigger than 35's.
As for being too aggressive for the mall...it was just a really good deal. Besides, it has, and still will see the trail. Just not as much, as soon as all my new mods on my 5Runner are done.:)

A body lift won't really help much. Most of the clearance issues seem to be frame clearance issues.
And for power...I actually haven't driven it with them on yet, but I don't think it will be too bad. They are only 5" taller than stock. It's no different than throwing 33's on a stock Toyota minitruck. Plus, it has a touch more power than a minitruck.;)
That said, I think lower gears would be nice, as soon as they are available.:)
Anyway...here's another pic. :D

Angle on the CV's are no different than with any 3" lift. As for their strength...they are the same ones that come in the V-8 powered 4Runner. They should survive for a while. Probably gonna carry a spare, though.:D

Saweet!

I know Terry already cut his body mounts. I can't remember where he said it was rubbing.

Spare

Looks great. One thing though, where is the matching spare tire? Will it fit the stock mount? Takes gut's to be the first. "Rangers Lead The Way" Michael:cheers:
