First Cruiser. First post. Just spent a couple hours browsing and have already fixed my cruise control problem and hope to find time to have my injectors sent in to be cleaned by MAF. Great fourm!

I have a factory service manual ordered. My Cruiser has a couple little problems that I could use some sage advice on. (1) First the high beams don't come on if I click the lever forward (no blue dash light either), but they work as they should if I pull back to flash the brights. What's up? (2) More pressing is what I think is a short somewhere that is affecting my dome lights. They don't come on at all. I have checked the fuses, which are good, but I have yet to break out the multimeter. Hopefully, someone has also had (and fixed) this problem. Any help would be great. (3) The AC blows cold for a few minutes then goes warm. The dryer has bubbles in it at idle. They reside after increasing engine speed. Compressor cycles as it should. High and low sides feel like they should until the AC goes warm. As far as I can tell there is no blockage in the system. I thought maybe the r12 was low, but now suspect the reed valves are bad in the compressor. At any rate, I plan on converting to 134 soon. Where can I get a compressor/dryer and conversion kit on the cheap? (4) Sunroof has a whistle directly above my head (LF). It looks like it may be slightly out of adjustment. No leaks. Just a whistle @ 45mph or more.

Thanks in advance for your help. I drove the Cruiser 800+ miles home to Colorado from Las Vegas after purchasing it on ebay. I got a great deal and a great vehicle. As soon as I take care of these little things it will be near perfect.

welcome. good first post. can't help with 1 and 3. For 2, if the dome lights don't work at all I'd start by changing a bulb! It is not uncommon for the door auto-switches not to work until you fidget with them, but the overhead switches usually work. If you have a short circuit I would expect you to have a blown fuse and I also think the front and back dome lights are on different circuits. For 4, if you have a wind deflector/shield around the sunroof opening take it off. You can play with the tilt switch and maybe eliminate the noise, and it is a good idea to carefully clean all the rubber up there with soap and water, but you will get a certain amount of noise up there if you have the slide open.

Thanks! It's not the bulbs. I've fiddled with the door actuators and checked all the bulbs/fuses. Everything seems good. Contacts are all clean. It's a little wierd that all are out if they're on different circuits. As soon as I get some free time and my manual I'll start trouble shooting with the multimeter. I did a lot of adjusting of the sunroof on the trip home. I found a couple positions that reduced the noise, but didn't eliminate it. I'd like to be able to open the shade and not have to play with it. Thanks again!

The sunroof is adjustable in many directions, I only had to lift the drivers side a little with shims (washers) to get it flush and the noise stopped.

Take a look at your FSM when you get it.

I thought only the later trucks had the domes separate?

Order the EWD (electrical wiring diagram) wile you are at it. Sounds like you may need it.

Did you check the "dome" fuse in the box under the hood? That one is sometimes overlooked. Both domes are on the same circuit in a '93.

Thanks! I saw your post about the washers. I'll definately get the wiring diagram.

I also checked the fuse under the hood. It's hot and the fuse is good. The contacts were a little dirty. I think I'll clean everything to start things off.

Check that the bulbs are seated and the contacts aren't corroded, I had this happen, but not on both domes, worth a shot anyway. :)

Welcome Jenny . :flipoff2:

Re: sunroof - I find that if I close mine from the slid open position, it seals better and does not whistle . If I close it from the tilt position, it does not seat right and whistles. Hope that helps.

WELCOME! :) :flipoff2:

Thanks all for the help. I'll post my progress. *MOT It's been awhile since I've seen Anpan-man. Where are you in Japanland?
