Where did you go... In talledega they start closing the gates in April and start opening them in November.

Off 219 in the smaller area. Roads 737, 749, 724, and some spurs off of those mostly.

I washed my rig today. Then took an abrasive to it to get the sap/s*** off of it. After that I waxed it and got it all shiny. Now I have a clean interior and exterior. Although in three weeks I'm going to the hunting club and it will all be for naught.

In my driveway is a cheap carwash. I'll be glad to let you use it.

Finally put in my hand throttle. Works pretty nicely. Idles at 600 or so and when engaged parks on 2000 rpm. Now all I need to do is get back to Prattville to get the winch and install it and that's one more thing off the list.

So I think my starter is going bad. It will click and not start and when I hit the starter with it off the try it will start usually. The battery still powers everything ok. I cut a branch off a tree a few days ago to beat the starter with. Nothing like using a branch in a suit to start your 18 year old land cruiser at your office. I assume its the starter. Any other ideas?

yup. you need to do the larger starter wire mod.... Matt has explained it to me 1/2 a dozen times... I still havnt done it, or fully understand what to do.

My old Integra began to have really sluggish starts. Replacing the battery ground and starter wires and lugs made it start right up without a hiccup. If the connections are oxidized or for any other reason you're not getting sufficient current, it can present a similar symptom. That motor draws a good bit of current for a short amount of time.

The fix Zack is talking about involves running a larger gauge wire directly to the logic circuit on the starter through a relay and then activating the relay with the existing starter logic. The thinking is that the ignition circuit, which passes around the engine, through the ignition switch and neutral safety switch, degrades over time to the point where it can't activate the internal solenoid in the starter. It does however still have enough juice to activate a smaller solenoid or relay sending a nice jolt to the starter. I chased this problem all the way to the end on my 92, fusible links, contacts, rebuilt starter, new grounds, new starter power feed - the new logic circuit through a solenoid fixed it for good. The solenoid I used was probably overkill, I am sure a bosch relay would be plenty.

start with the contacts, rule that out, and then move to other more complicated fixes. Contacts are cheap and easy to replace.

Has anyone pulled the starter and replaced the contacts? How long and hard is it? Any tips would help.

I pulled my starter to have it tested. 1/2 hour job. Easier easier with the driver tire removed.

Sent usin the "new" app.

Well I met a tree at the hunting club and the tree won. All part of owning one of these and wheeling it I suppose.

There is a Green 95 sitting in a Junk yard down the road from my work. The body seems in decent shape and the junk yard is shady enough to get a good deal. Its off Hwy 31 north birmingham.
I went and checked it out one day nothing for me but you might want to look at it.

Did you kill my bumper?

Damage isn't horrible. I hate to show my stupidity in pics. No damage to bumper at all. I think I have sourced all I need from the forums in white so I won't have to paint it. Yay fun for me.
