I do think I was very lucky to find this LX470. I had been frustrated for about a year looking for one.
There are not many for sale in the area I live in and when the local Lexus dealer put an ad for one
in the newspaper it was snapped up the next day. We traveled to Charlotte to look a couple 100K+
LX470's and when got there both had SOLD signs on them. The other Lexus dealer in Charlotte
had a 2006 with 91K miles, black with gray interior, but would not sell it to me. I had my checkbook
with me and would have instantly pulled the trigger if there were not so many scratches on the body
and there was not so much undercarriage rust (it lived most of its life in Maryland). Then the salesman
stated that there was an open recall on that year and the dealership would not sell it with an
open recall - something about certain LX470's have side airbag issues with no remedy from Lexus yet.
The salesperson showed me at www.safercar.gov about the recall and the fix was scheduled for September.

The very day that I saw my 2002 LX470 was the day my Isuzu Trooper broke down when we were delivering
Meals on Wheels to shut ins. The Starter motor quit on me (common to Troopers) and had to get someone
else to deliver the meals and have my Isuzu towed to the shop. When I got home and my Isuzu still
at the shop, I saw this 2002 LX470 on Ebay ... it was beyond my dream LX470 I was looking for. I just
had to pull the trigger. I was indeed fortunate to find this LX470.
 
Anyone else first check to see if this was a resurrected 10-year-old thread? 24,000 miles? Really?!
Great find! And, I don't that's a hefty price for that truck at all. You killed it. Well done.

Friends thought I was crazy back in 2002 to pay $26,000 for a 2000 LX with 80,000 on it. Still driving strong with 160,000 now, and some of those friends are on their third car since I bought mine.
