Good news today. The last bearing and oring for the transfer case came in today along with the connector for the trailer wiring harness. I also picked up an extra fusible link as a spare and plan on an EFI relay spare too. Any other electrical spares anyone would recommend?
Still awaiting the repair terminals and getting my transfer case housing back.

More good news! Transfer case housing back from the machine shop dishwasher. All degreased!
Darren, you gotta' get that head back from the shop man! Summer's almost here... light a fire under that machine shop! I don't care how good they are, you're a better man than I to wait this long.

It would be nice to fix one thing at a time with a build. But, in the real world of builds multiple things need to be tackled while researching fixes, locating parts, waiting on parts, tools, budgets, and time. I’ve had a goal to tackle at least one thing every month whether working on the truck or gathering parts. In the meantime I ordered more parts. Picked up a hood support with grommets, timing gears and a hose for the engine build, a torque converter seal for the transfer case/tranny service project, and an EFI relay for a trail spare.

Hood support installed. The rubber grommet is grooved so it just works in the hole on the radiator support top trim. Then just snap the retainer on the left side and put your rod through the grommet and you are done! Kids enjoyed helping with it.
No gas strut mod!?

I have stock gas struts already. They are a little weak. I like the hood support rod backup.

Can you tell me more about the hood support. Is it designed for an 80 or you retrofit. Also i see the part numbers for the support and holder but what about the grommet? I've just started carrying a stick of wood and hate it.

Those are correct overseas part numbers I researched that fit perfectly.

Kids project today. Painting the wire tap insulation cuts with liquid electrical tape. I’m thinking it would be a good idea to paint 3 layers with a days drying period in between for good protection. There are no instructions with this product. I love it when the kids want to help on the Cruiser!

Another round of liquid electrical tape by my daughter today. Engine parts came in today. Valve adjusting shims and a hose. Off to the machine shop!
How did you know which valve shims to purchase?

They go with my custom head the machine shop is setting up for me so the machinist did all of the measurements.

A little daddy daughter project this afternoon as I’ve been teaching some automotive electrical skills. Repaired the broken trailer light plug and completed install of new converter. Used dielectric grease in the connections.

The girls helped remove the bumper caps with aluminum step in preparation for removal of the welded hitch and easier to get to the rear exhaust mount. I’m a little torn on the exhaust as I’ve already collected the Bosal pieces that have had less than stellar reviews since I started collecting them.

Scored a visor unexpectedly. The drivers one was toast.
