It may have something to do with the amp. But for now it sounds great for what I was hoping to accomplish. Hopefully won't have any alternator or fuel pump noise once I get this thing going. :)

Come to think of it I was testing the system without the battery hooked up so it was running straight off of an old Sears 6 amp charger.

So, decided to go with this mounting setup since real estate is at a premium.

Pulled the A-pillar trim and ran the wiring down the side and behind the cluster to go with the radio harness. Used 3M tape to run the wire. Will bundle that with the usb and aux wiring in the dash I’m using and the amp wiring which is next to run on the passenger side of the dash. Redoing my power source for the Garmin as the 5V converter was producing too much noise interference for the radio at the same time.

One of the maintenance items I wanted to do was check out the front axle breather hose assembly. As you can imagine it was pretty gunky after all of these years so I removed it and cleaned it up. It’s still flows air, which is good but upon checking it out, I discovered that the hose where it connects to the axle had split. So taking this opportunity to clean up the hardware really good and replace the hose with a 2” longer one for the sway bar disconnect.

Diode Dynamics. Very happy with the light output compared to stock. I also did the doors with their high output led bulb.

Sweet! I put simpler ones in the domes. But wasn’t sure what would fit in the map light.

I never did figure out the part #. It didn't come with them. I went back to stock while trying to diagnose the engine. Not sure I'm going to mess with them again but no problem with them that I'm aware of.

Back to the head unit. A pillar is back together with new boost gauge and ultra gauge installed. Started installing the backup camera and wiring. Will be nice to have one for the first time in it. There’s a slot running behind the passenger vent and airbag that worked to tuck all the wires with my sons smaller hands.

So in order for me to get the camera on the swing out, which is what I’m thinking to not block all of the view, the RCA connector is going to be exposed to weather so I’m a little concerned about that. Maybe I can get some heat drink over it.

Anyone running a camera on their swing out that’s not centered? How well does that work with parking and lining up the hitch?

Pulled the video cable through the passenger rear grommet using some needle nose pliers and a cotter pin tool to stretch it. Gotta be careful with how fragile these cables are.

Trying to get back to this thing. Decided I needed a quick project to knock out before I dive into the head unit and other stuff. So, installed some SuperPro rear drop links and some Perry Parts bumpstops Christmas present.

Thanks. Here's a picture of the ventilated oil pan. Notice a drip of antifreeze. Not much loss in radiator or overflow tank. I'm wondering if the headgasket blew and it hydrolocked. PO states his kid was driving it when this happened and I noticed the overdrive was off. Piston is intact. I don't see any bore damage from this angle. Rod is broke on one side and it hit the block on both sides right where the pan bolts up.View attachment 1048806
Did it at least blow on the passenger side? The lack of oil not dripping on the passenger side front axle housing is a huge design flaw IMO.

Pretty sure that was driver's side.
