They seem to be ok. I don't see slack, but when I decelerate from (say) 80 mph to 72 mph, I get a faint vibration. No vibration on acceleration. This may be due to a worn drive plate, so I can't indict the Cardone driveshafts without more research. I can't complain, broadly speaking, and the boots are fine, so they have lasted a while (and boots are often lame on non-OEM parts).
ty!

Well based on this thread, I went ahead and ordered 2 of the GSP axles but i opted for the XD versions. I figured it couldn’t hurt.

When replacing the CV’s what other parts should I put in / replace?

Thanks

Oh man, there are so many opinions on this one. My advise is to, at the very least clean, inspect, and repack the wheel bearings.

You should probably replace the snap ring on the outboard end of the axle too. When I do mine I am just real careful when I pull them off. You just barely open them enough to get them off.

You really should replace the hubs with new axles to ensure a tight fit. If there is rotational play, it will wear out your new axles faster.

He means the hub flanges, just to be clear. Definitely not trying to be pedantic, and I totally agree with you. The flanges are like $30-40 and as stated if the splines are worn then you'll chew up your new axle splines. May as well replace the gasket under them. Have the assortment of snap rings on hand, and new dust caps.

I realize I am buying aftermarket CV's but when it comes to the hub flanges and seals should I fork out for oem or is aftermarket just as good?
Additionally I see the snap rings come in various thickness. Is there a certain thickness or part # I should be buying?

Thanks

I’ve never seen aftermarket flanges, but they might exist. For the price of OEM I don’t think it would be worth it. The snap rings are a couple bucks a piece. Buy 2 of each so you can be sure you use the snuggest fit. I’ve only ever used D or E size on OEM, but I just helped a guy with aftermarket axles and it took fat Bs to get a snug fit.
