Well it's finally time! I was able to lock in multiple vacation days this month and will be starting my build. I purchased this Curiser a few months back with 245k on it and have been playing with different bumper and roofrack ideas but haven't been able to get in the shop to work. I somewhat settled on a front bumper idea and will post pics of what I came up with as well as progress as I go. The front is going to be very simple and if it goes well I may make 1 or 2 extras that I would be selling if there's interest. I'm thinking 2" square tubing with 1/4" walls. I'm still unsure about the stinger and light set up but will go with what I feel in the moment of fabrication. I also plan on adding a 2" receiver for a shackle or a receiver mounted winch so it can be removed to avoid it being stolen while parked at home. if I'm posting this in the wrong section please let me know!

The old tube type bumper, classic styling. If I may, 1/4" thick is really heavy, suggest you look at 3/16".
Most of the aftermarket guys use slightly lighter gauge. Strength is sufficient with 3/16", IMO.
Look forward to how you do this.

Nothing is set in stone, I was going to make a decision once I saw the different materials. But thanks! Gave me a good place to start

Well here's my rear bumper design, I'll at least get the base done but I still have to find and price out the hardware needed for the swing. I get started Thursday, porbably start with the front. I will also have no need for the stock bumpers so those will be up for grabs to whoever wants them, pick up only from Fresno-Merced areas.

It never goes down like I plan! Ended up working on the roof rack yesterday and today, got pretty much all of it cut and will start tacking and fitting Monday. I went with 3/4" square tubing with .065 wall. I'll have 360° lighting and in the front empty space I'll eventually build a small storage box.

Got the main part all welded up, just need to add lights and the protectors for them, add the expanded metal bottom, build the gutter mounts and paint. It's getting there!

Unfortunately no updates...while I had time off there were multiple family issues and I wasn't able to spend very much time in the shop. Hope I can get back to it soon!
