After looking thru it and the post of rebuilding it. I need some parts for sure. No control panel, no solenoids and no cover for the left side. It came on a trailer hitch base with 1" tube framed handles on either side for ease of moving it. It is made by hidden hitch which allows you to mount it on the front or rear of vehicle.

I called my local warn parts shop and they want it. I mean like very bizarre..." bring it in right now we want to see it". Since I only plan on placing it in the front, would you sell it?

It came with 3/8" cable with a crimped on loop on the end. What do most of you use a d ring or hook for it?

Funny. Turns out that what I thought was a 8274 was actually a pre-8274. It is an 5687 series made in the '60s. You push in the clutch mechanism and it allows you to forward and reverse abd locks it if the clutch is not depressed. At least it will be period correct and that the winch was actually a manually controlled winch. Someone in Minnesota makes a remote for this winch that Warn recommended to use for it.
