How sweet it is!

:steer: Well here it is, in and running! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_9_OQZ9fiI&feature=youtu.be
well drove it home with mixed city and highway---60 and 70 is no prob

driving impression with 33's and 4.11 gears is that 1 is like a granny gear, 2nd is like a first gear, once into third there is a big surge of speed and it pulls all the way up to 70 which is as far as I would go with it as I usually go a max of around 70

the 5 speed is smoot as butter and fits in there just right---not too far back or forward

Well what can I say but I am over the moon with it right now---the diesel sound and the turbo whistle!!! funny thing is it is actually quieter than my 2F

Wanted to say thanks for all the help Crusher--I probably would not have started if it wasnt for your posts

I have been away a lot and working loads of overtime so havent been on mud much but after all the anxiety, expense, and questions it finally feels like it was all worth it

loads of power and smooth!:):bounce::bounce2:

I need to get some pics of the nuts and bolts of it, mounts and crossmember and shafts---I have the drum brake behind the transfer from a European LC and am using the 80 series 1hdt power steering pump to power my saginaw pump

seems to work fine and had it in the forest today flexing the suspension and it worked great even in deep sand

so far so good

also went 12 volt with the starter

no glow plug hook up as of now

got temp gauge and oil press and ammeter for now:steer:

just cleared the steering shaft as you can see

Congratulations, a fine looking swap!

Now enjoy it.

I would love some pictures of your mounts if you don't mind. It looks like you went with an electric fan and I was wondering what the rational behind that was. Looks great!

fAN

Hi Ya MOJO

I knew I should of shot the mounts--i will post them

no rational for the fan but looking at the install there is good room at the rear and a little at the front but not much and I do like the placement as it does not look pushed back too far.

The fan is on a switch only for the time being and actually I found that I can drive slow or fast and the thing seems to stay at 80c or below even with the fan off---and that is the original 2f rad

I was away for a couple of months and a guy here in the uk has a shop that specializes in LCs put it in,

he had another 40 he had already done and I left him to it
just wanted to get it done as I have been working on getting this together for a year or more now. Now I can sort out some of the smaller jobs but keep it on the road!
