After the install of the Baja Kits UCA, I had some minor rubbing of the tire on the UCA at full lock. It would've worked fine with a different offset aftermarket wheel or spacers but I didn't want to loose the RW's and Jordan wants the kit to be able to bolt on to OEM trucks without any further mods. Jordan said he was going to make some tweaks to the design angles and he'd be in touch with me in a few weeks after they were laser cut, welded and powder coated. I got the call last week and dropped the LC off Monday morning. In this picture, you can see where the rubbing was occurring:
While it was jacked up, I took some pics of the minor trimming we had to do to fit the Falken Wildpeak 285/75/17's. Here's the mud flaps:
And here's a shot of the front:
Here's a shot of the custom spacer they made for the factory bump stop:
I didn't get any shots of the re-designed arm on yet. I'll post some when I do. Needless to say, no more rubbing on the arm. At full lock turned to the right, the drivers side tire touches the KDSS arm slightly. Only way to fix this is go back to a smaller tire, aftermarket wheels, or spacers. I'll live with the minor rub.
On Wednesday, Jordan and the crew from Falken Tire took the rig to Soggy Dry Lake for a photo/video shoot. Unfortunately, I had to work and couldn't make the trip... They did share some bad ass pics though!
I took the wife to pick it up today. Jordan said it handled everything he ran it thru really damn good. Obviously different then the Class 1 Trophy Truck he just ran in the Baja 1000 but damn good for such a beast of a vehicle! Wife drove it home so I still haven't ran it. Hoped to get a quick run across Main Divide Trail on the Santa Ana Mountains this weekend but it's been raining all day here so the trail will be a mess. Gonna have to wait until after Xmas!
