Yeah $35,000 is way out of my price range. I already have an FJ40 and I'm going to mold it into exactly what I want.

Might be easier to build a cool 40-based trailer/camper and pull it behind your 40!

I like that.

I know this goes against everything Toyota, but I found this and I would love to use this M101 military trailer as a bed like they did. I'm in love with the concept of a truck that has a removable top and doors.

Ok so with some help I managed to get my 1978 2F in the shed

Got the 3 speed and transfer case out from under the frame and pressure washed it, also managed to get all the motor mounts and everything off of the busted 1F that came in my FJ.

And FINALLY had help to get the frame separated from the axles so I can get it prepped to cut and stretch.

Once again I know this is a jeep concoction but it's the closest thing I can find to what I'm doing. Just Invision it as an FJ40 truck, anyway the good thing about using the military trailer as the truck bed is that I'll also be left with a military trailer frame to put the matching FJ40 rims and center caps on and turn into my own custom utility trailer.

Pretty sure the Military Surplus near Camp Shelby south of Hattiesburg has one of those trailers. I have a phone number if you need it.

This is just another idea of the look I'm going for. I know a lot of people won't agree with the the long wheelbase because it decreases the mobility of the FJ, but I'm going for a mobile command center.
