Well I got this today from a old man that had it sitting in a fenced in lot. The Blue Angels are in town this week putting on a air show and the roads are terrible with traffic so i cut through a old neigborhood and saw this. I went back today and after talking to the guy I got it for 100 bucks. Had to air up the tires but this is how it looks when I got it home.(even has moss growing on the left of the bumper....been sitting awhile) Not anything great but its a place to start at least.

Sure looks like a great start..I'd say major score! Sure it needs some TLC but after some trail time it'll be long forgotten...good luck!

how is the metal? much rust? not a bad deal for an old bantam trailer.

what's the plan?

M100... If you want to rebuild the front tongue assembly, the brackets for the frame to tongue are bolted to the frame next to the tail lights. Looks like they put them there to keep the lights from hitting the ground. Pretty cool for the price.

Just get it sandblasted. It's cheaper than you think and will save you a TON of time. I spent $300 getting mine blasted and primered.

I think you scored big time on that trailer.

Yeah, and if you have a hard time finding the tongue parts, I have the frame from an M100 that is complete (except for a slightly "trimmed" lunett).

Yup, nice score!

I would also suggest some sort of sandblasting. See if any local blasters will cut you a deal if you can leave it there until they slow down and don't have much else to do. I have been fortunate with that in the past to get some deals if you can wait until they are slow and need the work. I would mean like a month max, not years. ;)

As for the trailer, it'll be cool to see you do one on as little coin as possible. YOu are off to a GREAT start.

That is one hell of a score.

Good Luck to you on the build

I have heard good things about Dad's paint stripper, you might check the paint forum for ideas.

When i did my trailer, I tried the paint strippers, wire wheels and anything else I could think of. But in the end I had it blasted, it was the best money I spent on the trailer. It got it down to bare metal.

Well I went by the local trailer place and picked up a good used drop axle for 40 bucks. It should give me the right hight. Ill have to shorten it because its way to wide. Ive got to go by the junk yard tommorow and pick up a couple of rims for it.
