Hey mud folk.. . putting this out there as I am looking to sell my FJ40. Will be as concise as possible here...

Complete 1982 FJ40, 653 Olive, build date December 1981, 168,000mi. "refreshed" by me.. most of it 10 years ago. included repairing/replacing lower door sills, rear sill, rear fenders... 10 years strong and those areas still look awesome. Was not a frame-off, was not a restoration. I wanted a solid 30 footer that I could actually still drive, take to events, wheel a little, look good in parades and on Instagram, and that's exactly what this truck is. Turnkey rig if you want a 40 that runs/drives/looks great. Or great jumping off point if you want to get crazy on a resto.. happy to chat about every single detail to interested/qualified individuals.

Complete hard top- every bolt in tact, nothing rusted. I have a brand new headliner not installed that goes with it.

Complete soft top- OEM bows, rear split doors.

Also comes with a set of half doors, originally from a 1973. and a Gamiviti flat rack. :)

Factory power steering... stock gears, open diffs. Only "mods" would be non period-correct wheels, a new Proffitt's 8274 winch bumper, better mirrors, and Tuffy center console. I still have the stock stuff, including 5 white wagon wheels.

Pic with no top and pre-79 gray wheels...

Same spot with the white wagon wheels..

You can pick which wheels to run, you get 'em both and they both have tires on them. I also have multiple jump seats- including the "correct" short ones, and the sweet long ones from 1973 with the tapered front.. . great if you need to carry a bunch of little kids in a parade, though you do have to take the roll bar out to fit it.

Asking $37,500 for everything. Nothing is cut, or hacked up, bunch of power and RAM mount stuff installed to the Tuffy... if you don't like it you can easily revert back to the stock center console, and/or put the rear heater back in, you're going to get all that also. Has all smog equipment installed, passes emissions.

Would also include a good sweep of my parts shed when you come to Denver to pick this up... like anyone who's had a 40 for a while I have multiple random parts to go with it, there's likely a lot I'm missing above but trying to be brief and not too boring with details. Currently the soft top is installed but that can be swapped over if desired. If you're serious, send a PM or better yet pick up the phone thanks... hoping this one can stay in the mud community before I go to the other channels. thanks for reading -tim 303-250-7573

I’ll add…just a couple months ago we drove from roughly from Denver to Ouray together. You can do the maths if you want, it’s not a short drive. Then camped and wheeled the San Juans. Flawless 40 performance…even at 12,000+ft.

I, too, get to do the key swap with tim. It’s super super nice. Drive it, wheel it. It’s ready to go. Yeah, Much nicer than mine. 🤪

Hey thanks, fellas! yes part of the joy of owning this rig is being able to share it with friends... hopefully that trend continues. Also to be fair, when Steve drove the 40 he let me drive his FJ45, and when Shawn drove the 40 he let me drive his FZJ75... so just one of the many perks of being a part of this community.
