A little background. Purchased my first land cruiser back in 2011, it was a 1999. Purchased with 136,000 miles for $12,000.00 Drove it for another 40,000 miles and traded it off. Only problem I had with it was a brake booster type issue--it was expensive! Other than that took it on several family road trips and it was a beast! Drove the piss out of it. Didn't make any mods just upgraded stereo.

Next I talked my wife into getting a 2004, it didn't drive quite like the 1999, the steering felt softer. The 99 drove like a truck, loved it. I did like the Styling of the 2004. My wife was never real crazy about it. Only mod we made to it was added a iPod aux.

Moving forward my wife ended up getting a 2008 Land Cruiser with 83,000 miles for $35,500.00 in 2013. This was pretty exciting as the change from 100 to 200 was dramatic. Better stereo, power, electronics, etc....

Had this one for a couple of years and then I was driving us to Mass and T-Boned a Toyota that ran a red light!

Thank God everyone in the Land Cruiser walked away. It was me, wife, two teenagers in second row, and two small children in third row. The guy in the Tercel was taken away via Ambulance. Thank God he didn't have a passenger. Insurance gave us more than we paid for the LC. That never happens!!! My wife opted not to get a Land Cruiser and instead purchased a 2011 GX460. At the time I was driving a 2014 Tundra.
We are raising my niece and nephew along with 4 children of our own so I decided for safety reasons I needed to be in a larger vehicle so the search for a Land Cruiser was on!
I found a 2008 Land Cruiser in Dallas Texas with 120,000 miles for $35,500.00 I traded my truck and ended up purchasing the LC for $31,500.00. 6/2015

The day I got it!

Shortly after purchasing I found out the Cam Tower was leaking. I decided to put off the repair for awhile. First thing I did was replace the clouded headlights with brand new head lamps from Toyota $500.00. Did this job myself in a couple of hours. Was pretty easy. Didn't remove the front bumper completely.

Passenger side new, drivers old.

This made a dramatic difference in appearance.
I also noticed that the white paint had some oxidation so I had it buffed out, this has been a process that I've had to address a few times.
Next mod was tinting the windows.
Sometimes I think I should ditch the tint as the 2008 had a very light tint to begin with. Reminds me of a vintage land cruiser. Definitely not bugger like the mirror glass of 1999.
Next Mod was Saris Freedom 4 Super Clamp

Love this thing!
Next Mod was the Yakima Sky Box 18!

Love it, very hand on trips with a family of 8!
