MP3 adapter - NonNAV - 2005 & up

So I have heard about an MP3 adapter for the 03' & 04' model years and adapters for the Nav guys. But I just tried this one:

off of Amazon last weekend and no luck! I unplugged the smaller of the three plugs in back of the in-dash six disc player and plugged this device right in and no LED light on the unit and plugged it into my iPhone and nothing. Dropping several hundred on an Android screen unit is not high on my priority list for my Spring Moab trip. Lift, skid plates, and hopefully a locker are way higher on the priority list. So any have an under $50 suggestion?

If you wanna keep it cheap and you're going to have to use an aux cord why not just use a cassette adapter? Well, I'm assuming the non-navs have a cassette deck.

Yeah, that is one option I was trying to avoid. I do see now that Yomikoo does offer a Bluetooth version as well but am not sure if it will work.

They work fine, especially if already considering having a wired connection. For a non-nav GX I'd just replace the headunit as inexpensively as possible.

It is pretty easy to install an aftermarket double DIN.

Yes it is easy just not a priority in funds right now as mentioned. Plus I want the Android unit that is a full screen so you don't have to have a miss matched surround piece in black.
