So here is what I started off with
dring1.jpg

I had my IPFs on my bumper like everybody else. I decided to change that. Here is the bumper "lightless"

Hey! There's a screwdriver in my d ring!

Alright now here's the finished project. (shouldve taken more pics)

oh and I mounted my CB antenna on the rear bumper today too

why???

Is this a joke?

lets hope. this is a 100, not a 94 wrangler with Day Lighters on the hood.

Sorta kidding-ish, its your ride, so do what you want to do. where are you, how do you use that bad boy

You all can enjoy having your cruisers exactly the same. And I like how it is now

I think you should reverse every mount on the car and start over. I may be a bit harsh but..... you have d-ring shackles on a bumper that's not designed for pulling in those areas. Scrap the bumper and order one that has the provisions. Put the antenna on the ARB so you can see how much the brush is bending it rather than it snapping off the back. Get a new hood and don't mount lights on it, you want them on the bumper because you don't get glare off the hood, and it will actually increase your night vision. Mount the lights on the lower tabs and throw some HID's in there. And there you are off to a speedy start to some sliders and actually offroad tires. I apologize, but if you were to take that on a serious trail, you would probably have some nasty surprises.

Very unique and practical. I'm not a hood driller either, but I can appreciate the idea. Makes me wonder if you couldn't fab some brackets that mount on the underside and slip through the gap, kinda like a CB antenna mount.

Anyway, welcome to MUD! Tell us more about your truck. We can see your ARB and winch.... anything else unique?

yeah cool dude. I wasn't trying to insult you, nor try to **** you off (hence the 2 apoligizes within). At one time (with many stickers, lots of chrome and plastic steps) thought my truck ruled more than everyone else's (like you, but mine was much worse at that time, much much much much worse). I started taking everybody's little advise and went back to the drawing board and came out with what I have now. I worked 3 jobs and full-time student, not trying to one up you at all. We the 100 owners tend to seek-to-destroy when something we've never seen before. Sorry again if I came off wrong.

which reminds me, I have seen many times a 100 like yours. I also see the Souhern sticker on the front.

I never thought my truck ruled more than anyone elses. All Im saying is I like how MY truck is. I put all of the work into MY truck and I dont need a bunch of people with the exact same truck telling me why mine sucks

If it looks like everyone is doing their mods the same, it is for a reason. If I mounted my lights on the hood like you did, they would rip off in thick brush and deform the hood at the mounting points. You want to protect lights, not leave them out as giant branch catchers. I'm going to ignore the heated portion of your post b/c I was 18 at one time and I know it is kind of hard to control emotions when you think everyone is ganging up on you.

I will say this though. Think long and hard before getting yourself in a situation that ostracises you from the Mud community. You'll be kicking yourself in the butt when you are 25, still in love with your Land cruiser and in need of help.

This is the 100 I posted about like 3 weeks ago

Its your truck, do what you want. If you want to do things differently from everyone else thats fine.....like you said it makes yours unique.

Nothing is f&*$ed here, Dudes. Come on, you're all being very un-Dude. They'll call back.

How about some close ups and under hood shots so we can see the wiring and mounts

Taylor, I like the way your truck looks.

FYI, I did far worse when I was 18. I drilled holes in my scouts roof to mount KC hi lites. My roof leaked really bad and it killed my night vision. I toughtit was cool enough. Don't ask me what I did to a vintage jag :).

Good thread. Aside from being "different," was there a strategy behind the light and antenna placement? Tend to hope thought went into it. Tend also to think meds should be adjusted.

I did also...I will post a pic of what I mean

You guys in the 100-series section are harsh compared to the 60 section; but I belong to much worse forums. I don't think the lights look that bad, but I know that if he wheels his Cruiser like I do, those would be ripped off the hood by a tree within the first hundred meters. And if he lived where I do, those holes he drilled would be rusted out three times the size come spring..
