I was talking with one of the members of the Clemson 4Wheel drive club, and we got to talking about mountain estates. He informed me that it had been purchased recently by a developer (atleast the half we rode on last time). I have no reason to doubt this being true, since ME is where the Clemson guys go to ride.

I believe David knows the gentleman who owned that land???? David have you heard anything about this??? Or any one else have any news.

It would be a shame to lose such a great local trail as we have lost so many others around here.

On the upside, the same guy informed me that the Hushole is still open for riding.........

Hey has anyone heard anymore on this subject matter?

the same guy that developed the all of the cliffs communities has purchased the property.

I live about 3 miles from there.

His son and i are friends, he had a nice 40 for a while, and we flipped it in tellico, then he sold it.

so yes, unfortunately it is no longer accessible.

It doesnt make any sense that location doesnt have lake access like the cliffs communities. It has no value other then wheeling, and moving a power line costs more then most developers want to deal with.

you know I think alan, is friends with this developer........

That parts cruiser at Alans belonged to Lucas, the guy Jason08 is talking about rolled his 40 at Tellico, I do believe. Maybe Alan can pull out some connections and get us private permission???? Or maybe I am dreaming.......

This is not a dream. I will contact Lucas and see what can be done. However if it is to be developed we will be out as soon as development of roads starts.

alan,

I have a question for you.

My 40 has a horrible knock when you let the clutch out and start to move forward. Lucas said his had the same problem, that it was common, and that you fixed it.

Do you know what im talking about by any chance?

Thats cool Alan see what you can find out for us. It'd be great to be able to have access until they develop it if thats what they do.

well, now the Clemson 4-wheel drive club says that Mountain Estates is open, and hasn't been purchased?????

Alan, did you ever find anything out?

Will advise. I called Lucas but have not heard. I will post a message as soon as I hear. Sorry for the delay.
