The last picture is a terminal strip. You should be able to find one at an electronics wholesaler. It's nothing too special.

Go ahead and remove the water pump. I'm sure once you remove it someone should be a able to identify it.

Yup, terminal blocks can be had at any electrical or electronics stores. Have you tried the toyota dealer? Anyhow, Allied electronics a.k.a www.alliedelec.com mouser electronics, newarks electronics and digi-key corperation are some of the vendors we buy stuff from here at work.

thanks guys , we got the brakes working and could not help going around the block ! what a rush but we still have some work to do . i will try the toyota dealer thanks again

the oil filter is on the pass side, didn't that start in 74???

thats what i was wondering all of our motors have the oil filter w/lines coming off the engine on the drivers side thanks

Date stamp on the front driver's side of the engine block. Something like 4 02 27 would be 1974, Feb 27.

Yes that appears to be an F155 F and 1/2. Different oiling, different bearing size, different head gasket, head, did they take off the air rail on the driver's side of the head? One or two pulley harmonic balancer?...

On the other hand, the water pump wouldn't be any different. It looks like they took the older alternator bracket and transfered it over as well.

I would say 74 motor. Throw a 60 dizzy and coil in it and light up the tires.

Sorry, this actually only works for my 1969 and 9/70 engines, not for the '74, which is thusly stamped, FWIW:

The casting date for an F 1/2 is in the back driver's side above the oil pressure sender. Like a 2F.

Here, it's 3/12/15, for 1973 Dec 15.

Except for the lack of a return line on the carb, it looks like a 74 to me too. 74 Cal spec dizzy and the 74 up oil filter with F engine alt and air cleaner set up.
