There is a similar thread in both the 100 and 200 Classifieds Sections, makes sense here too. These trucks are changing hands at a rapid rate these days, having consolidated live market data is a nice thing for both buyers and sellers.

If you have recently bought or sold an 80 series and are comfortable sharing the details, post it here.

Always concerned when the same truck keeps popping up, however they encourage people to see in person and list a phone number, good indicators it is legit. I would pull a carfax report just to make sure there are no title surprises.

Good luck looks like it has possibilities!

Do many people in CA still use Craigslist?
I do, but it's not as well-used as you suggested. I think FB marketplace dominated but I don't use that.

I thought craigslist started charging (at least me...) $5 for auto listings, so I don't know how people are getting around that since there seem to be people that obviously are.

These are posted at a local car lot, and have been sitting for months.. stuff just isn’t selling right now.

Cruiserheads will hype up their value online, but if you ask if they wanna buy one, it’s always “I already have one,” or “I have too many projects.”

I feel like everyone who wanted one already got one, and the rest of the public is scared off by age and high miles.

Glad to hear, I am not a fan of FB Marketplace or FB in general (less so after recent events). The timing of charging to list and adding those steps could not have been worse, gave Marketplace the opportunity it needed.

Hope you check out the 80 series and report back it is legitimate and as presented so a West Coast Mud’r can scoop up a nice one!!

Yeah, CL's decision to charge people instead of finding another solution to cut spam and phishing was pretty lame.

I'm going to let someone else reach out as I am not personally interested. I believe that it is also listed on FB Marketplace, too.

He’s reposted it on FB Marketplace about 5+ times now, and is even posting it under a different name (profile?).

I assumed an LC fanatic would’ve scooped that thing up in under a week if everything was all good to go. I don’t know, something seems off about it to me. If anyone does end up buying it let us know.

The ad seems legit but I’m with you, something ain’t right!

The photos from the FB ad and the CL ad are different. Mileage is 60 miles more in the CL ad and the location of photos is different. Cities are noted differently.

Confirmed with contact with the seller that they are curbstoning it.

Is this one overpriced? The miles are on the high side, but the maintenance history is solid, it stayed up and ran strong, and the interior was very clean with newly surfaced seats. It looked like the heater hoses were new as well. @sr5pickup this is the same one that was sold a couple years ago.

It seems like a good rig, but when I posted on the Lamd Cruiser subreddit, people were saying they sold one just as clean with lower miles for half this price..

The prices seem to be all over the proverbial map........

Pretty sure it’s the same truck. Those scuffs look similar on the front corner with some new ones added. Tires are the same as well, just a little more worn.

The moonglow/desert dune 80 has 91-94 carpet (or similar aftermarket) in it. The carfax also doesn't pull up. I'd want to see that. They are all overpriced.

Why lc80 is expensive in usa vs other countries? And I did notice that rust is common in the usa.

I'm from Saudi Sometimes trying to advertise cars from here to usa because the prices that I've seen is expensive, but the issue is I was in discussion with someone who importing cars he said importation could cost 10000usd.

This is a 1994 land cruiser which I visited the showroom to photograph, has been listed for sale for a long time. Why wasn't sold?
because it is equipped with an automatic transmission

Rust can be a problem in the Gulf. One of my 100-series from the UAE has some rust bubbles above the windshield and on the door frames.

Cost to ship from GCC has skyrocketed because of what's going on in Yemen and the Red Sea.

I look on CL almost daily, and it appears that there are a lot of 80's for sale in California for some reason. The few sellers I've spoken to mostly bought them for overland projects that never got off the ground, and they're selling because they've given up on that dream.

Ok, I have this one listed in classified:

Any thoughts / "appraisals"?

I looked at yours and it looks like a great deal at that price. It’s the right color for sure. I would have thought it would have sold by now. Looks like a good runner. I’m tapped out on extra Landcruisers though. Would make someone a nice inexpensive entry into the market.

@ Sogafarm: I appreciate the input. I believe the market for 300k and above vehicles seems really soft now even if they are LC's!
