~12 years ago, my FJ80 HG failed. I cleaned and checked the head. bought a laundry list of parts, then while cleaning and preping the block, I noticed pitting by #1. The project stalled and has been sitting in the garage since. I have to many other thing going on and it is time to move on.

Stock suspension.

Triple locked with pin7 mod and dash button

Body is in good shape. Paint (red) is rough(clear coat peeling and some brush scratches on the doors) no rust though.

Interior(original 28 year old) is not bad but not good. The original seats are pretty dry

Odo is 207,xxx

block is currently out

location: Sacramento

Is asking $10k too much?

My 16yo son dropped in a rebuilt and it's driving again.

Just found this super-low mileage "Limited" FZJ80 on the market again. It appears to have been sold in ?2021, 2023 and again in 2024, all in a similar price range (~160,000-170,000). IIRC it has been discussed in the past but can't find the thread??

Anyone know the backstory on this 80? (no, I'm not bidding on it). Makes me wonder if someone is just flipping it back and forth to boost the market value??

Located in the Bay area. A flipper vechicle.
 
I’m going to look at this K294 today. It’s hard to figure out why it hasn’t sold in 3 weeks given it has the coveted factory lockers. It does have nearly 360k on the (afaik) original head gasket, but the knuckles were done back in 2022.

Yeah easy to track what's up with that Carfax from the ebay auction. Seems your (Kernal) assumptions of whether it is sold or not are not accurate. It's now in the space of rich silicon valley douchebags who buy or rent it for social media cred.

I did. It was a little rougher than I wanted - condensation/leaking on the sunroof, rockers starting to bubble, oil everywhere in the engine bay, massive exhaust leaks, and apparently the lockers didn’t work unless you did Figure-8s (good luck with that if you need them on a trail).

It was still a decent price, just more work than I was wanting to take on.
