There is a similar thread in both the 100 and 200 Classifieds Sections, makes sense here too. These trucks are changing hands at a rapid rate these days, having consolidated live market data is a nice thing for both buyers and sellers.

If you have recently bought or sold an 80 series and are comfortable sharing the details, post it here.

I expected it to go for so much more. Maybe the current political and financial climate is making buyers pause.
I was gonna mention that also. A few very similar trucks went in the 60-80k range in the past year.

I'm not sure people with this kind of money to spend would be swayed by the socioeconomic climate, but it's possible collectors are tiring of the J80 since it's been "hot" for a while now.

Looking at this one:

Listed at $8950
Seems to be about mud price, huh?

Just going off of the ad, it sounds like there is rust; "It's a little loud but not terribly. Can use a new area by the cats". Not sure if $9K is worth it based on what I see. I like the color and year though. I'd have to look at it to make a better assessment. As it stands, I'd pass.

I’d say it’s in the ballpark for a K294 in that condition in this market.

Just don’t expect the maintenance/baselining to be cheap if you get it.
Yeah, my read is that it all still works, but it’s all been working a long time

"Service at TLC 4×4 in Chatsworth, California in January 2020 totaled over $36k (!!!) and included overhauling the brakes, suspension, and drivetrain, as well as replacing the tires, ignition components, battery, alternator, radiator, water pump, and exhaust system."

Who spends $36k on their truck at the mechanic? That sounds more like a frame off resto on a 66 Corvette lol

Looks like they replaced everything except the D light.

For reference: Bought this triple locked '97 LX with 351k for 5500 yesterday. Pretty original and unmolested from what I've seen digging into it. Guy listed for 3500 and proceeded to get bombarded with messages. Switched to a corny highest bidder gets it thing after. Think that scared off a lot of people.
Needs several grand worth of parts and heavy paint correction/detailing but I know I can get it sorted.

36k wouldn't cover body work and paint....

What do you guys think about this one? Guy is asking $14,900 but he said he is not firm. It was a FL truck up until this past summer and I don't see much rust. The carfax looks okay with 62 service records and 2 previous owners but it did have a light accident in 2011 to the drivers front.
