For Sale Most recent 200 Series purchase prices (4 Viewers)

Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

I finally took the dive after dreaming for years. Bought a 2011 LX 570 with 175K miles, paid $22K and just got a dealership repair quote for about $13K in repairs for front end work (lower control arm bushings and front shocks/struts) brakes (new rotors all around and brake pads), and has leaky steering rack. Lots of other engine leaks as well I was quoted another 10K to fix those - cam tower leaks, timing cover leaks, top and both oil pan leaks, rear main seal leaks. Leaks pretty minor except the steering rack. Front end work was surprising, but I should of caught it. Should of had a pre-purchase inspection done, lesson learned. Motor appears to of been replaced at one point because the block is black. Doesn't seem like mechanically this car was built for 500K miles like so many say they are. For the price I expected around $5K in repairs, but the estimate for complete repairs has exceeded the purchase price and I certainly didn't expect that.

Fortunately, it's not my daily driver. I bought it as a first car for my daughter that is turning 16 in 10 months, which probably wasn't a good idea either. I just thought it would be something fun to work on together and have some fun off-roading with her and I always wanted one.

What do ya'll think it's worth with the repairs done minus the engine oil leaks? About what I paid for it?

Saw this on Instagram. I thought it would go for six figures but the accident probably pushed it down.

As a reference point, I just picked up a 2021 Base with a hair over 30,000 miles. Sold in the Southeast and has been driven in the Southeast all its life.

Bumper and hood repainted. Otherwise clean inspection. Minimal surface corrosion on a few spots underbody.

$83,250.

Sounds like you bought the wrong one but I would definitely seek out a second opinion on the repairs. Lexus dealer service will be the most expensive route. I have my 200 (LC) serviced by a trusted advisor and her team at a local Toyota dealer. I'm happy to connect you to them. You might also check out Goode's Offroad in Rowlett. I have never been personally but have heard good things about them from a couple other Toyota friends here in the metroplex.

in addition to Goode’s, I recommend Mayo Automotive in Lewisville. He is a straight shooter. He will tell you if it’s needed, priority and is always reasonable. He always has cruisers and other Toyota/lexus vehicles in his shop. He has worked on my T4R, current 200 and my wife’s GX/Prado.

Picked up a 2013 200 for $36.5k yesterday. It has 74k miles with a single owner and no accidents. I bought it from a jeep dealership that for whatever reason didn’t list the truck on auto trader. I found it by chance looking through Capital One. I promised my wife no mods ( but wheels and tires don’t count right?)

A 2013 LC with a whopping 270k miles popped up for sale near me in SLC for just north of $25k probably closer to 28k after taxes and fees.
Interesting data point. Carfax also shows "minor" damage. Crazy.

I slightly panicked the night before I picked it up though because I added it to my Toyota account and saw that it had been taken to Toyota for a pre-purchase inspection ( maybe a user on here?) . It said it needed new front brakes and rotors, the rear differential was seeping, and one of the front headlight washers was broken. I called my neighbor/landcruiser mechanic and he said those aren't major issues. So 8 hours roundtrip later I had a new rig!

Honestly the fact that it wasn’t widely listed is huge. I’m certain there would have been many interested parties had this been on Auto Trader.

New to me 2015 LX570. 90k miles, 2 owners. Aftermarket rear bumper and roof rack, new lower control arms and OEM F/R brakes being fitted for $34,575. I think I did well.

Yes, I did get it looked at today by a Lexus non-dealer place. They saw a rear main seal leak, to fix was $2,250 they were about half what the dealership was and let me bring my own accumulator globe and rear shocks. They also saw what looked like an oil pan leak. Steering rack and pinion job only $2,200. So if I do new driver bottom seat cover I will be into it for $35K for a 2011 LX570 with 175K miles on chassis and ??? on engine block with new control arms and new stock suspension, new steering rack. I would of much rathered bought some of these other cars posted. Those are great deals.

Yeah you really got rinsed a bit there.

When you're buying these sort of rigs, you almost have to have a PPI if you arent mechanically inclined.

For what it’s worth (and especially for people buying out of state/not local), I had a really good experience with Lemon Squad as a convenient PPI option. It’s obviously hit or miss based on the mechanic you get, but it’s 100% better than nothing and will give you a good sense if further investigation is necessary.
