OK, so a 2F can indeed be retro'd into a fuel-injected, gas-sipping, model of EPA fuel efficiency. Given the assumption that the install was performed masterfully, what make/model of injection system is/are worthy of consideration? What mods should be avoided?

Anyone out there have a first-hand, educated (asking a lot here with this group) opinion?

This just in: "Affordable Fuel Injection" Anyone heard of this company?

Cheers,

I've done it, go with the downey kit, very well put together. Search under my name and you'll find a write up..

Hello new user/:wrench:-

If you would like help with a specific modification to these vehicles, let me suggest that you figure out a new approach, because this is not going to fly around here.

If this was an attempt at humor you have failed

So is this the answer to the question posed in your other thread concerning what kind of fuel injection was in this Land Cruiser you were looking at?

Have you made an attempt to either get photos of the engine area from the owner, or, gone over to look at and take photos of this truck you are seemingly so hot about?

Posting up three pictures of a vehicle from twenty feet away, is not going to get you any form of solid, reliable opinions on said truck; especially ones on the steering or fuel injection system.

I just talked with them today...They sell a 100% complete kit for about $1500.00. ECM, Dizzy, harness, sensors, TBI, 2bbl mounting adapter for TBI, and the fuel pump. I am not sure if they use any of Downey's parts or if they have a "one off" kit of there own. Oh and apparently the injectors are balanced and the ECM has been re-flashed and set up for the Toyota F/2F engines. Go to there web sit and down load one of there instructions, also call Downey and request there TBI instructions (they send it to you free), then make your decision. Oh and do some searching on Mud, there are a bunch of TBI threads.

Good Luck!

There is more than one way to skin a cat. Do some searches, follow the link below to my buildup. (which I have now completely given up on setting up a completion date.) Look up the name Matt.Mcinnes. We have all done our own thing.

Go to badass's site, he did a good writeup. I 'm in the process myself. It is coming along great. I will post pictures as soon as I've learned to fix my security so that I can post oictures.

And at the end of the day, don't consider buying any kit that is represented as being complete, but does not include a VSS, or anything else that is designed to support excellent drivability!!!!!
