OK, for those of you who are die hard "Hello Kitty" fans, here is a must-have item for you. 8)

They even come in different colors to match your vehicle color!

Unfortunately, they only come in H4's :( (too bad for 80's owners in US anyway).

Anyway, more on the serious side, I have been seeing LED day-time running lights lately(especially on commercial trucks). They, along with Hello Kitty headlight bulbs, are made by Koito who manufacture quality lighting stuff. Here is the link to it:

I'm somewhat skeptical/not excited about the amount of light they put out, especially during the day. Yes, they are visible, but not blinding by any means(I know that's not the way they are intended in the first place, but...).

They claim that the lights(2 types) emit 60/90ccd of light with 18/10 LED's, drawing appx. 1.5w. Also the affect on gas consumption(on large trucks, I'm guessing) is noticeable(2 liters compared to 108 liters consumed by LED and regular headlights/year). They come on automatically when ignition is on and turns off when it is off as well. I saw amber ones today, too.

The bigger unit is designed so it could be seen from wide angles as well. Anyway, take a look, just for fun. ;) I'll put a pic of the smaller unit at the bottom for those of you who are too lazy to check out the link :D

While we are on the subject of LED lighting, any of you use an aftermarket high-mount LED stop light? I'm thinking about picking one up.

Later,

Koito was at one time(up to at least 1990) the suplier of the OEM headlights(and other lights) on Cruisers.

*groping in the soupy darkness for the alledged link...........*

I'm also still looking for clear lenses to replace the smallish orange ones just above the bumper on my 80 . One side was salvaged from an older model and looks like crap ; much duller .

Beat me to it, Nakman!

:flipoff2:

I bought those a couple of weeks ago from their website for about $40 if I remember correctly. I guess they had a little ? price increase.

Exellent guys ; thanx !

Maybe I'll give the place a call , and ask them to come down more in the neighborhood of the EBay pricing ... rather deal directly with a sales person than going thru ebay .

All new Traffic Lights use LED's and most existing Traffic Lights are being converted. Also most new Trailers, Such as Semi's, B-Doubles, Dolly's and Road Trains have LED's, And even most new Caravans are fitted with LED's :-*
