I was having the same issue and determined that the bronze bushings on the back of the spindle that makes the axle ride in the center were badly worn.

I have one side disassembled. I will take some pictures and we can talk about it at tomorrows meeting because I am not sure where that bronze bushing is at, and hopefully I can just reassemble it only once.

The bushing is pressed into the back side of the spindle:

The actual part looks something like this:

Those grooves in the bore should be about 0.080" deep. The ones in the face should be a little shallower. The groove's in Bush's were almost gone. Yours are probably similar.

Did you get it figured out? I ran the MC seals too, and they also did leak. If you're still apart, check the wear on the axle shaft. If It's grooved, its worth offsetting the inner axle seal. Also, that brass bushing has been superseded by a half brass bushing half bearing setup (I don't like the thought of tiny bearings, so I ordered replacement bushings from Cruiser outfitters.)

I haven't been driving it much, but I haven't noticed any leaks with my Toyota seals I installed. It was easy to offset using just a but socket to tap it in. Also I saw no grove worn into the shaft in the area it mates with the seal.

Meeting is tonight!

Hey everybody, I just found this forum and I'm wondering when the next meet-up will be? I'm in NW-AL.

Thanks!
Hey welcome... our next meeting is July 22nd at Campus 805.

We also have a Facebook page if you want to connect with us there too...

See y'all tonight!

I know I joined the group a little late. And only been to one meeting. The little bet I've talked with y'all is pretty good for a socially awkward guy. Who should I talk to about getting my name to the Toyota dealer? This is Vance kanaday. The dude in the green 80.

Hey Vance, this week (Thursday) we have another monthly meeting.

Are you asking about getting your name added to the Hot South discount at Bill Penney? If so, once you are member your name will be added to the list. Here is a link to the club store:

Hope this helps

I paid my dues a little late in the year. So I didn't get a sticker. And the dude at Bill Penny said it's been awhile since they got any names.

Yes that's true. We usually give him a list at the beginning of the year and and an update as we add members.

I'll make sure you are added.

We should also be able to get you a sticker. I'll have it ready if you can make your way to the meeting this week.

Hey Vance the list was sent to BP and your name was added..

Hope that helps
I had spoke with a counter dude up there Monday and I got him to give me the discount. $850 rack and pinion for 600 bucks. Tacoma is now one step closer
