Do these axles come from Toyota, I'm buying an old mine truck for the parts and it has these same axles?

Mog axels just mean they are from a Mercedes Unimog.
Mog is short for unimog.

Are you sure they are mercedes axles though.
Quite a few companies make them.

The name for that type of axle are "portal axles".
They have a planatery gear reduction at the ends.

As for as a I know toyota does not make a portal axle.
(Maybe on the Mega cruiser, but I am not sure off the top of my head).

They are sweet axles, as I am sure you know.
But they are not stock. So just make sure, they someone did a good job installing them.
I.E Not hack and chopped and just slapped in there. Otherwise factory in the time to clean it up.

Lucky bum. :)

Cheers,
Nick

they look like volvo c303 axles to me from what I can see anyways

are you sure they are portals...

I've seen a mine truck that had a miller or some other co. hydro axles which are super low geared.

greasecruiser had them on his exmine

I'm not sure, I'll pick it up next week but the hub assembly looked the same, but it looked like the pumpkin had a pinion shaft that went through the axle and had bearings on both ends, I know that is a lousy discription, it sure didn't have that much lift so you may be right about them being Hydro axles, more when I pick it up, Larry

There was some evidence Toyota made portals for their some of their military trucks and maybe offroad buses but they are so rare and only in Japan its hardly worth looking for them.

You can see on this military spec Dyna 4wd that the rear axle sits higher than the hubs.
Portals??

This model Dyna also has a axle width somewhere between a 60 and 70 series from memory and is SOA.
Make a great swap into a 70:D

The truck pictured above sits on Volvo portals. I doubt, from your description, that the axles you're looking at are portal.

Someone did post a pic of this rig or one very similar that was running portals.
Although for the lift in that,it hardly seems worth it

I'm sorry, can you clarify this?
\

Well it hasnt greatly increased the distance between the tyres and body but it does have some healthy clearance under the diff.
I guess the owner wanted it sane enough for the street.

If he'd using the factory springs he has atleast 4.5" of portal lift. Those tires are factory Firestones size 8.90-16 volvo tires (34" tall). He should have atleast 14" of diff clearance with those tires.

That truck has independent suspension front and rear. I'll see if I can find the civy truck on my other computer....

What makes you think that? If it does then this is the probably the truck that shares the Megacruiser suspension, engine and drivetrain.

I have only ever seen their civvy trucks in leaf

Cool pics  ,got a link to that site?

I got them off of some Japanese sites a while ago. Most of the links are dead, however I saved a few pictures. They also had some of the older solid axle trucks as well (I'd like those axles!). If you want some of those pics let me know.
