Front axle shaft snap rings?

Just trying to confirm please as amayama states different part numbers for the inner and outer snap rings which hold the birfield. Only one snap ring is available. Can the same ring be used for both inside and outside of the birf please?

Outer is flat, while inner is more of a stout wire ring.
