Alex,
Yeah we talked about it at the party. It only makes sense for you to jump in with someone as a passenger. That way you are focused on picture taking. I told you if you decide to go, currently I have an open seat in my truck. Just let me know sooner than later if you are going so I can plan accordingly.

Brian,

I know exactly how you feel. Hope you can make it happen.

I also hope they don’t have to change the dates. Currently the June 19-24 dates line up perfect with my work schedule.

If you are going to be at the Monthly meeting on Wednesday we should chat more about this. That being said, I'm going to say lets do it. If you are willing to have me aboard, I'm up for it too. Thanks.

Stan Wright, my boss and Trails editor, will also be there in official TLCA capacity. I'll also have to let Eric Agee (Rubithon chairman) know I'm headed out to do photos.

I really want to go back out to that part of Cali. Very excited for this.

Under 6 months!!!

Now that my winter NC to CA and back / Mojave Road trip is over and done with it is time to start finishing up the plans for

RUBITHON 2018!!!!!

I am.

My tow rig is good
My trailer is good
My vacation days is good
My trail rig? Not so much, I need to get it up and running, tested and then prepped for the rubicon

I am a fairly firm go.

Tow rig good
Trailer good
Trail rig fairly good
Vacation good...but a team member goes on paternity leave late May. I'll raise hell if I get denied.

I really would like a co-driver. For the drive there and back and while on the trail we could take turns driving and spotting.

@SFROMAN What route do you plan to take to get to CA? I'm pretty certain that I'll fly out there, if you are still good with picking me up before you hit the trail?

I'm also trying to figure out what day to fly out.

Looks like I80 to South Lake Tahoe NV. Then 40 min. into Tahoma CA. Which I believe is one of the trail heads.

For planning purposes:
Rubithon dates are June 19-24

Wagon run should start that Thursday June 21 which is when I plan to start the actual trail run.

I would say that flying in on WEDNESDAY JUNE 20 into South Lake Tahoe would be a good tentative date to plan. Maybe even late that day. I can get you from the airport so we can prep for the next days start of the trail.

I am not 100% sure what day I will arrive to South Lake Tahoe. But I will be there no later than WEDNESDAY June 20 to do final prep and then ride to the trail head Thursday 21 for the wagon run ( depending completely on what the instructions are from the trail leader -link up site, pre-trail inspection, pre trail instruction and start time)

Hope this helps

My family and I are currently planning on leaving Apex NC. Friday 15 June towards South Lake Tahoe.

My goal is to arrive in South Lake Tahoe on Monday 18 June.

I am open to be a co-pilot if anyone needs one and wishes to listen to my babbling. have tools/ skills/ camping equipment/ CCP....

After driving the lx450 across the country and loving every second of it, I have been considering driving the lx450 there, do the rubicon, then drive it back. Instead of trailering the 82 pickup with the f250.

I loose the security of having a ride back no matter what with a tow rig and trailer.

But,

It be way more cool to do the event in the lx450.

Thoughts

Or just leave it in SoCal with me ;)

You did it once already. You can do it again!

It's looking like I'm out of this one. Finances, due to our home addition and general money pit, are not going to line up to make this trip happen for me. Too many unforeseen expenses.

If by some miracle I am able to make it out. I'll most likely drive out there in my Cruiser. At this point it's a big if.

Looks like Biscuit should be finished at some point in early February. Assuming it's running well/reliable. I might consider this trip.

If not, I'd consider sitting as co-pilot with someone else and pay for the gas and split the other expenses.
