Normally we just stay at the Bowen Inn and have been really happy with their accommodations over the years, but I'm upping the game this year so I'm thinking a rental property. Does anyone have first hand experience, or reliable second hand feedback on good properties that we could rent for our trip this spring? I've looked at the VRBO site and "Jefe, I would say we have a plethora" of choices. Just hoping that someone might have some standout townhomes or condos they could recommend. And feedback about the various areas where there are located is welcome too.

Thanks,

Norm

I am down! I teased myself with driving through a couple weeks ago with no trails!

With what the area has to offer Im camping given a choice

take a gander at the 200 series Moab trip. It was quite the adventure...absolutely beautiful right now.
if you are taking the family, there is an amazing aquatic center for the little ones.
call and check with the places you are looking at, I heard a couple of the pools got washed out with mud.

Moab Pre run 2017.

Just took a gander at your "adventure", Holy Crap, you got TRUE GRIT, determination and mad trail mechanic skills. Also, nice cruiser support from friends, what a great community. Memorable trip for sure.

Def interested in a Moab ROTM! Been there many times with another off-road club.
Sounds like it could be a pretty small, informal group every month.

Thread resurrection time! :skull: :grinpimp: I actually thought I might have to cancel my trip this year but looks like all is still a GO! CM18 registration should be opening soon. For anyone interested in going, I always like to do the full CM experience - at least a couple of registered trails, vender night, the big dinner and raffle. In the past CSC has had a variety of representation - from official registrants to daily wildcat runs. One year we had over 10 registered trucks on the same run. I'm open to doing a mixture of both - but I always try to do Golden Spike on Thursday with CM and Fins and Things after tech inspect on Wednesday on my/our own. Here is link to the trails with ratings Cruise Moab - Trail descriptions I'm itching to try a new trail for me, maybe Cliff Hanger, Steel Bender, or Top of the World as my other CM run.

Dates are May 1st to 6th - I'll probably leave early in the morning on the 2nd to try to get into tech inspection in the afternoon, and then head back either Sunday or possibly Monday.

Lodging is still undetermined. Waiting to hear back from some east coast peeps to see if they are flying out to join me. I'll likely go ahead and book a couple rooms at the Bowen Inn until I find out. Then I may get a townhome or condo depending on turnout.

Anyway, post up if interested. I may start a separate thread after registration opens. WARNING - when registration opens you have to jump on it fast. Last year it sold out in a week or two (it was the 20th anniversary) but previous years it's taken a month to sell out.

For those of you who have not been this is a golden opportunity for a great experience. Having someone with experience like Norm will help you maximize the Cruiser Moab event. Norm knows how to get the best Land Cruiser porn.....

I am considering. Need to talk the girl friend into this.

DO IT

Norm - how's finding lodging that week? aka - Is making room reservations earlier than CM registration smart?

Lodging is good now, VRBOs, Bowen Inn available. Could change when registration opens.

Monitoring the Cruise Moab page, it changed this morning showing that registration won't be posted till Mid-February. If you are still on the fence, this will give you some more time to make arrangements. I can only hope it's because they are making this year's event super awesome!
