No affiliation. Appears to have originally sold in Hawaii. AutoCheck reports 3 owners, clean title, and no accidents. Sale history appears to indicate it was for sale in April 2019 with 49k at ~$35k. I’d be all over this if I hadn’t already picked up my rig last month (and if I had another $10k).

*EDIT* Adding VIN and some more info for posterity. VIN: JTEHT05J662080795. Amazingly, Toyota Vehicle Specs tool doesn’t load any info on this VIN. I’ve never seen that before.

I checked the service records. Something is definitely off on the mileage. Possibly rollback?? Cluster replacement?? Seems odd.

I was curious so I also checked out the service history. Mileage doesn’t concern me (the 49k sale was in April 2019), but some of the early service history does. There seems to be minimal service history in the early years, and something about replacing 10 body mounts at a $5k estimate. Never seen that before.

Oh well. Here goes nothing. I just put a deposit down. Carfax verified the mileage via California SMOG checks so that clears that up. Ill call the servicing dealer tmrw to double check as well as the previous selling dealer and see if they have any other info. Thanks for posting. If all checks out, ill be in touch @GTS550 ;)

Where did you see that on the service records? it seems that it was driven VERY little in HI. Perhaps the reason the VIN doesn't register in the Vehicle Specs on Toyota was because of the configuration?? Definitely seems odd. There was some minor damage reported to the front left and rear center bumper. Looks like a couple backup sensors were replaced with non-OEM too.

Curious, 4 mileage discrepancy, and in over very short time & mileage span. I've never seen more than 1 mileage discrepancy on any. Interesting, more service done, at 20K, than most need overdue at 90/120K. Is that pamper or what!

Presumably the maintenance was due to age, not miles. Doesn’t look like it was driven but 20k miles while it was in HI! Hopefully I can get the mileage discrepancy all sorted out. It’s a unicorn I’ve been looking for.

Yes, please do! I'm glad the rig will be going to another MUDder. This is just across town for me, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not a bit jealous. I was wrenching on my 06LC tonight trying to sort out rusty AHC issues at 184k miles, so I'll live vicariously through your purchase.

The vehicle was removed from my Toyota Owners account so I can't check right now, but it was in one of the first (i.e., earliest) 3-5 service records I saw. Check the 'more details' link for each service record. If I recall correctly, owner was complaining about a noise in the front driver's side area, which tech diagnosed as one or more broken body mounts, and suggested replacing all 10 to completely rule them out.

I’m excited for noNAV. I’ll hopefully be updating with something useful and modern

Found it. Very interesting to say the least. Would appreciate some thoughts on this.

Inspection is key. This one needs very very close hands on inspection. I do buy long distance and inspect long distance at times. But this one needs personal inspection by a 100 series specialist, not just some dealership. Find the guy like me or the Slee of MN. Pay to have this one gone over with a microscope.

Normally I just want a few pictures close. I'd fly out for close, than drive back (fun right). But with covid, I not be flying out. So now we've a too good to be true, very unusual history, mileage issue and very unusual time in history.

There was a Black Unicorn 06LC from HI, for sale about a year or so ago, in Denver w/~50K. I did look at it. It was a beauty. If carfax shows this sold in Denver, than this is it or the of it VIN. It had reg's in Hi and CA at same time. I surmised at the time, people had homes in both.

Ask seller for picture of VIN DS door plate, be text today. Also windshield shield DS VIN, PS frt wheel well VIN and PS engine head VIN. Get shots of undercarriage. If it's the one I saw, it is showroom fresh end to end. One of the best I'd seen. As good as The Black Knight. I wanted this one so bad, but they (A local lot) ignored my offer, which was higher than this is priced.

This 06LC was removed from my account too, due to so many checking this one out. Unfortunately before I could study the history. I had just scanning. I saw some strange entiers. Where age is also a consideration with PM, and I do like seeing all fluids flushed, T-belt and PM stuff. I've not seen this much PM before and early mileage. Toyota does not recommend transmission flush, except extreme condition and ATF is not and age PM. So this would be a customer request, that is more annal than even I. But than to declined oil leak repair or did they subsequently take care of IDK. So supper PM, but allow and oil leak. Like speaking of two different vehicles owners. What would be leaking a such a low miles. A compression test? why would they do that. In fact I've never seen compress test on a Toyota or Lexus history report. Body mounts, I missed scanning, WTF?

I'm not saying this isn't a jewell. But it's just strange entries. Then combine that with repeated mileage descpences. I've seen two types of mileage discrepancy, in the hundreds of carfax and Toyota/Lexus histories I've studied.

I've seen two types of mileage discrepancy:
1) Is fraud.
2) Typos.

4 Typos in a row in short duration is just strange, very big RED FLAG. Typically I can look and number see what number(s) transposed wrong. Than very next entry comes back inline. But in this case it's all over the board. This is a headbanger.

The missing entry from early years, I have seen. But only when from outside the USA. LIke my Canadian 2000 LX470. I must call Canada Dealership to get the history. So If carfax gives Hawaii Dealership. I'd be on the phone. I'd also be calling the CA dealership. I'd try to find service manage in each city, that wrote this up. They'd remember such a low mile and and owner that had no care of cost. But yet would tuned down some basics.

Good luck!

This must be the same truck you saw in Denver last year. The April 2019 sale listing was at Maximum Auto Search in Englewood, CO, where they were asking $35.9k and mileage was 49,833.

Mileage appeared consistent and consecutive when I was looking at dealership service history on my Toyota account. I don't know where you're seeing mileage discrepancies since I haven't seen a Carfax or AutoCheck, so I can't speak to those. The niggling question I have is why is this rig for sale at a third-party independent used car broker (who doesn't have their own lot) in suburban Twin Cities, rather than at a Lexus or Toyota shop? How would they have acquired it, except by auction? And if so, how did it end up at auction? Why would a dealership send such a pristine vehicle to wholesale rather than sell it themselves? And why would this dealer list it for ~$4k under even CarGurus IMV, let alone what it could fetch on BaT or elsewhere? Just my two cents.

Here’s the bullet points for those parties interested.

The story is the owner of the vehicle (28 year old guy) died in an accident (I looked it up). It is the same vehicle purchased in CO. They had a home in CO and MN. This was in MN and stored indoors. The owner of the small dealership is legit. She is a close family friend and helping out this kids parents. It’s essentially a private sale through the dealer.

thanks @OGfzj for posting the Carfax. It is the same That the owner of the dealership sent me. She also sent me picture of the title that indicates the same mileage as it had when it was sold in 2019.

That is the Local Dealer in Colo shown on carfax above. It is the Jewell I wanted here in Denver. I offered $32k as a stating point. Never even got a call back. Tried waiting them out. I lost it!

It did not have the AF radio at the time. Dealership, did not know it was a "Unicorn". Just it was a super clean low mile.

Get some pic and if VIN checks out, jump on it. Was super fine condition. I did not pull a carfax, but did a walk around. That is a great price.

I'll but if you don't.
