usually you just tell me how s***ty it looks!! :flipoff2: so coming from you thanks!!

Seems like I have been busier than a one legged man in an ass kickin contest but really got nothing done lately. Been helping my dad still on his house most weekends and some days during the week. Millhouse is staying with his Mom so I have been over there a few evenings. Sadly had a few funerals and wakes to attend so those took up two evenings each. Trying to cut as much wood as I can for winter. Most importantly getting ready for HUNTING season!!! I have not been out at all yet but going north this weekend to sitting in a duck blind for a few days and then doing the usual heading to ND and SD and I am hoping IA again this year for pheasants and deer. Still heading to my cabin up north to hunt deer with my dad and brother like I have for 20 years or so again also….. as always really really looking forward to getting out of here and walking through a few corn fields and seeing some buddies I don’t see enough…

I actually think I finally kicked this cold that I have had for 2-3 weeks… got a few good nights of drinkin in and think that was all it took.. :D

I have only gotten this tail gate done… still needs to be wet sanded down and buffed on the outside…. There is one big run that I am not sure will wet sand out or not…. I am really hoping it will be good enough but I may end up redoing the whole outside of the tail gate if I can not get it to how I like it… we will see… got the inside shot with SEM and I am happy with how it all turned out..

Got the gas tank put in there and hooked up… I do have to take it back out because I did not have rubber strips to put under it but now I do… so I want to get those put under there and button that all up put some gas in it and see if it fires up again.

I also started taking apart my doors… I was not going to take them down this far but when I opened the side panels and saw how much rust was on the inside I knew it needed to be taken down and sandblasted at least as much as possible before they are reassembled.

Hope your fall is going well and talk to you when I am done hunting… if I have time to do anything in-between I will post it up!!!

WOW.....

Just read through the thread at lunch, great build.

Rob

Thanks Rob!!! I looked at your site... you guys got lots of cool trucks up there... would love one like that one day..

I got the tail gate on and the gas tank all bolted down. also bolted down the tranny cover and the gas filler guard or what ever you call it... I am happy with how it looks...

I am however kind of pissed with the quality of finish on that rear bumper/tire carrier. it si rusting through the paint already in lots of places.... so I have to take it all apart and get it blasted and paint it again.... maybe I should actually put some primer on there now... there is no primer on there... very surprised at MAF and 4Plus low quality of finish!!!

probably just put two bolts on there and bolt it back on so it is not sitting on the floor, I do have lots of stuff that needs to go to blaster, but running low on funds lately so it will all have to wait until I got some more cash. I am also out of paint and etching primer so I need to get that stuff to continue on that stuff...

hunting was s***ty last weekend... this is my friend Wheeler with 3 grouse... none of which I shot... :flipoff2: we sat in the duck blind for a few hours each day... raining like a MF so sat until even the gortex could not keep out the water... got a few... nothing nice... so no pics..... dogs did well!

Nice dogs. Mine's better.

just a bunch of speckle bellys... they are the dirt of birds around here... not worth the shells to shoot them...

:flipoff2:

greater canadians!! smallest one is over 13lbs!! two of them were banded!!

I got more pics... we can play this game all day... bet I win!! :flipoff2:  :D

Great pic of the dog. Ya'll are lucky to be shooting already. We have 18 days and counting. I'll take specks over ross or snows any day! You've got to work for the light geese.

They are difficult to get to decoy... that is for sure.... we do get one of the first cracks at the Juvy birds that are all killed by the time they get to your place.... :D they are not even close to as smart as the older ones.......

snow, blue, spec goose = jerkey or dog food.... that is it... :D fun to shoot... :bang:

FYI Sawyer likes his snow goose wrapped in bacon.. :D

when is your deer season down there??? problem is ours in in 3 weeks just when the northern Mallards start coming down...

Both fowl and deer open on Nov. 1st for most of Texas. South Texas deer opens a little later but is extended. Those with MLD (managed land) permits started shooting deer when bow seasons opened. We hunt the middle coast mostly. Went this weekend and brushed a few blinds. Can't wait!!!
