Your glove box distributor vent is pictured in your 2nd photo. It looks like a door bell buzzer, about 2 inch round, hole in the center, with two mounting ears, tube coming out the back. You have it placed between the rubber distributor cover and the underdash lamp bracket, below 2 trouble lamp plugs.

I believe that is a carb linkage bracket based on the larger hole on one end that looks to have a rubber piece on it.
