Since i joined this site a few years ago, i never heard anyone call my truck a mini.

still, in town, toyota trucks are insanely popular. i see a truck every 8 times a vehicle drives by.

and being in the auto repair business, and having a dozen wheeling buddies that all drive toyota trucks, MUD is still the only place i hear em called mini's.

quite frankly, i dont like the sound of it.

to me, a land cruiser is a cruizer. nothing like em. its a cruizer.
a truck is a truck. has a bed, 2 axles, its a truck.

i ether call my 4Runner a truck, which is most of the time, or i call it a 4Runner. never once refer to any of my trucks as mini's.

A 4Runner Is A 4Runner. What We Call Mini Trucks Are The 1st Gen Pickups. Thus Why Your 4Runner Is Never Considerd A Mini Truck.

Its Mini Compared To All The Trucks Toyota Produced. Its A Single Cab two Seater.

But Thats My Opinion. You Can Think What You Want

It's not that small really even with reformed foot/wheelwells.

I call my 4runner, FJ40, and pickup all trucks. Everyone else just calls them Cool.:)
I can live with that.

the second gen trucks are called mini too. ;)

since the trucks were built first, and never called minis at first, up untill the taco and tundra were built, dosent that give them seniority, and therefore make all the later models just that, what thier name implies a tacoma or a tundra?

my FSM and owners manual says Toyota Truck.

and thank you for giving me permission To Think What I Want. :flipoff2:

I agree. I flip'n hate the name mini, sounds gay but then again I use it so Taco guys don't go "ugh?" when I say truck. I call mine a truck or hilux, that's what Toyota called them, but not to be confused with a pickup.

agree. but never call it gay inorder to not confuse a taco guy.

and to be compleley honeset, theres only one taco guy i know and shes a girl. so shes the misfit of the bunch. evry other wheeler i know has a truck, or a cruizer

Well seeing as the only group around my parts is the TTORA guys and about 90% are Tacos. Oh well, just sounding gay is still far from being a fiffy poof.

I heard them called mini's before I came to mud, I think cause the trucks weren't named here..... they earned a nickname..... It's not the size, it's how you use it! :D

Get some Hilux emblems.

I agree, no name = Toyota Mini Pickup, overtime the pickup was dropped. It must be a regional thing, around here if you call the parts store and ask for parts for an '84 Toyota mini they know exactly what your talking about. I have been calling them "mini" since long before Al Gore invented the 'net.:D

You might be right about it being regional; around here we just call them pickups.
