Does anyone know of a place that might have the Mini Truck axle for a front disc brake conversion on my 40? I've checked most of the big auto salvage yards and no luck, everyone I talked to said those were difficult to find.

Why mini-truck instead of FJ40? Did you try the UPull on Broadway? They had an FJ55 awhile back, but it's now gone (I almost grabbed the axles, but didn't). They might have a mini. You can check All MiniTrucks, also on Broadway, but get your wallet out.

Also, you might jump over to High Desert Cruisers and ask there.

Wait, you just want the knuckle bits, right. Go to the UPull, row 11 or 12. There is a mini there. I took the axle housing, but left the knuckle parts. That was about a month ago.

Thanks, I went to the Upull last week and there was no 4wd minis. checked out a few other places too, no luck. Thought about doing it with 40 parts, figured mini truck parts were easier and cheaper to get. But I will go back to Upull and see if I can find those parts, thanks for the heads up.

I think all mini is now closed.

You are correct, All MiniTrucks is closed, it's ABC now. Pappy, did you leave everything from the hubs to the Birfields? Minus discs and calipers?

I left everything except the lockout hubs. I might be heading that way on Saturday. I need an ignition switch and thought I would check the 82 Hilux in row 12 and see if the bits I left behind are still there.

I went by there today and found the knuckles, thanks for the heads up. Just need the matching Bifs now, that might be a tall order, any ideas there???

I might have a pair.

That would be awesome. If you do let me know. Thanks

Found one. Should have a bunch. Sorry. It's still yours if you want it.

Doesn't matter.

AH yes, thinking axle, talking Birfield . . . how much??

Think I've got a pair and should have an upgraded unused "newfeild"....

Thanks, as long as they're the fine spline I only need one right now. I'd take one off your hands.
