Mini truck 3B conversion

Simple question, do you think it will fit and has onyone tried it?

Found one of those cool 1983 prerunners for sale and was thinking in a few short years my son would need something cheap to drive.

There is a turbo fuel injected motor from a 1985 pickup for sale cheap with tranny transfercase, electronics to deal with.

The 3b would keep him from going to fast and net decent fuel economy.

Rob, I say yes it will work. But to make things simpler I think you'd have to use an offset land cruiser rear end to mate with the trans and tcase of the 3B.

waste of effort. the 3B is much heavier so you will need ot deal with suspension issues, cooling issues, shifter locations. find an old LJ71 and be done with it. same drive train as the mini (almost) keep it de-tuned and it will be gutless but when you want to get a bit more power then there are a few tricks you can try, 30 mpg and a resale value for when he gets tired of it...

It has been done. This one uses a custom bellhousing and a stock G52 Hilux gearbox.

Another way is to use the Marlin doubler to go between an H41/42 and a Hilux transfer.
