got a lift, just need to put it on - which with a 1 week old son at home, might be a while - hopefully I'll steal some time in the next two weekends.

Then it's Heath made sliders and rear bumper. Then we'll start thinking ARB, or Heath made front bumper. I'm leaving the Lexus body armor on - just cause I know it irritates people :)

You might think about running the Slee 4" coils up front, and the J rear springs. That's my setup with 285's and the rear is ~1/2" higher. The Slee springs have a heavier spring rate than the J's so handling is supposed to be better...

according to Ty ;) I myself didn't have the J's on front first, but the ride improvement is HUUGE! The 315's will fit nice...

That would explain why my father-in-law likes the gold rims

if I was trying to avoidd critisism -

"To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. _E Hubbard"

Don't know where I saw that.

Hey, that's fine and all. But you posted pics for input, I gave input.

ya', I was just saying, if I wanted to avoid criticism, I wouldn't have posted them (or I would have done black like everyone else), so ya', it's all good, I knew I'd get a reaction - nice thing is, paint is easy to change, at least with a little tape work.

I was curious about the Mickey Thompson ATZ's but my tire guy said MT's are expensive and wear fast. Good tires but not long on tread life.

Tell us how they wear, I'm curious on real-world use

I've had them on for a couple weeks now. I think they may actually have gotton louder - either that or I cleaned the wax out of my ears. Not horrible though, but considering I went from LTX's to Cooper HT's, to this, the change is extreme. I think they may actually make less tire noise than the BFG AT knock offs I had on my 40 - or it's just the 80 has more sound deadening.

We've had a couple of weeks of torential rain - enough to start seeing animals lining up two by two - and they've done fine in the wet. Went through a little mud hole the other day, and they seem to clean well. Still haven't gotton to try them on rocks yet, but will at my earliest chance.

Anyway - that's the update....

Oh, and on the ATZ wearing longer than the MTZ - I'd sure hope so. Comparing the life span of any MT tire to a AT tire is apples and oranges...

That is a statement that depends on usage. If you spend a lot of time offroad in the rocks, you may well find that AT's wear fast and are not long on tread life. Anybody expecting to offroad hard on a regular basis and get better life out of an AT is likely to be sorely disappointed.

Search on Revos if you want a good example.

Good point. Now that you mention it, my brother ran through a buch of AT's when he lived in a podunk town in MT. All the roads were gravel - sharp pointed gravel - I had three flat's in a week visitin him in my 2x4 taco. He probably would have been better off with the stronger construction of most MT's

Sorry I wasn't clear. Now that I read it, it looks like I meant MT vs. AT but By MT's , I meant Mickey Thompsons. My tire guy said Mickey Thompsons were a good brand but wear down quickly.

it looks good..
you should turn you white lettering inside so you look the same as everyone else. conform...

I have 40,000 miles of 85% pavement driving and 15% gravel and mud driving on a set of Micky/Dick Cepeck FCII's. They are quiet on road and great for light offroading, wet performance is not the best. The tire is a nice compermise of AT and MT.They are rotated every 5,000 and kept inflated. Some people generalize that since the Baja Claw wears fast and MTZ farily fast all Micky T's wear fast. Most people do know them for the Baja Claw though.

good. I've had them in some pretty sticky deep mud and they pulled through good. Rocks is very limited right now. Hope to try some more this weekend - since I spent my first father's day ever in a car driving 750 miles home from in-laws, I've declared next Sunday to be my father's day. Road is good. I thought they had gotton noisier, but the last time I got it muddy (doing 3ft mud ledges), while powerwashing I realized I have no undercoating left in my wheel wells. I'm guessing that is a large contributor to the noise. Wet roads are no issue as well. We had some pretty nasty rains a short while back, and never gave a bit of problem. They do follow road grooves a little more, but that's to be expected going from 10.5" wide to 12.5" wide. If they wear well, I could definately see buying them again.
