another thing.
I think it's highly irresponsible to imply that people running 33s and open diffs can easily run the trail.
sure, it can be done, but not without the high probability of damage.
larger tires are suggested for a reason. lockers are suggested for a reason.
the trail changes all the time. although you might've thought it easy the last time you went through, you might not be so lucky next time.
insurance? Not needed for an informal "hey you guys lets go wheeling on Saturday". Is needed for a formal "I'm gonna run the Rubicon 5 months from now and promote the idea on a web forum where the entire world can see it" run. Don't screw this up. It would only hurt the OHV community in general and the LandCruiser community in particular.
i drove a geo tracker out there doing the whole trail on 29s, no problems...
so you made up the part about camping at Spider Lake?
do you know the restrictions or not?
what do you mean ONCE information is available from the local authorities? the information is available now.
do you not know where to find the information?
...and people say this is one of the tough trails?

it's all good dude.
have fun on your trip. I'm sure you'll follow whatever rules/regs are in place at the time.
I don't think Spider's currently open for camping, nor will it likely be any time in the future, so keep that in mind when you go.
I don't want to see you get in trouble with the people who show up with 33's and no lockers and you spend the entire time stacking rocks for them. I also don't want someone to get injured, you get your but sued off.
Just looking out for a fellow mudder!![]()
