another thing.

I think it's highly irresponsible to imply that people running 33s and open diffs can easily run the trail.
sure, it can be done, but not without the high probability of damage.

larger tires are suggested for a reason. lockers are suggested for a reason.
the trail changes all the time. although you might've thought it easy the last time you went through, you might not be so lucky next time.

Anybody coming with me on this run has already traversed the trail many times. Nobody will be running 33s and open diffs. I have done it and it is time consuming and requires a lot of skill. I am sorry I caused any misunderstanding.

insurance? Not needed for an informal "hey you guys lets go wheeling on Saturday". Is needed for a formal "I'm gonna run the Rubicon 5 months from now and promote the idea on a web forum where the entire world can see it" run. Don't screw this up. It would only hurt the OHV community in general and the LandCruiser community in particular.

I agree, I am changing this to a "hey guys let's go wheeling on the last week of August event" I apologize again to anybody getting the wrong message and suffering stress or concern in ayway. I will request the moderator to delete the thread. Sorry for my mistake.

so you made up the part about camping at Spider Lake?

do you know the restrictions or not?

what do you mean ONCE information is available from the local authorities? the information is available now.
do you not know where to find the information?

I am familiar with all the restrictions. Some restrictions related to fire danger can vary however.

it's all good dude.
have fun on your trip. I'm sure you'll follow whatever rules/regs are in place at the time.
I don't think Spider's currently open for camping, nor will it likely be any time in the future, so keep that in mind when you go.

I don't want to see you get in trouble with the people who show up with 33's and no lockers and you spend the entire time stacking rocks for them. I also don't want someone to get injured, you get your but sued off.

Just looking out for a fellow mudder!

I am so sorry I ever though I could enjoy the outdooors. I guess I will assume a submissive position and let the old dogs pee all over my tree. Have fun guys. Just remember that when all elements abandon you and all odds are against you, the shadow of mickey rubicon will flicker through the foggy landscape and pullyou out of trouble. I am soory I exist. I am sorry I was only in my twenties when I first dorve a stock 80 on the trail. I am sorry for all the mistakes. I am sorry I have destroyed the entire OHV community. Please forgive me. Please do not let me die like a demon. Im gonna have children one day and they will want to know their father was a good man.

Doug knows German? who knew?

I just called the field office and they will provide me with a media permit to camp and film at Spyder lake and Buck Island. As far as the OHV community is concerned, my corprate community is sponsoring a few non-profit trail preservation socities so Norcaldoug, and Lukezero can go bark at another lonely oak tree in the woods. I do not care for the immature and idiotic heckling considering I have done enough myself. I 4 wheel drive better and own more capable vehicles than 98% of the people that make up stuff about me on the boards, and I have plenty of more money in the bank too. So if Norcaldoug and Lukezero want to rain on my parade, hey its a free country. Last time I checked with the rangers they did not think Mickey Rubicon was a threat to any community except for the old nit picking keyboard cowboys who wax their soccer mobiles nor did they ever even hear about any Mickey Rubicon. I had enough of the hatoraide nonsense. Especially considering the people who got all excited have clocked less one percent of the miles I have clocked on the Rubicon and packed out less than 1 percent of the garbage I pack out from that trail alone every year. So no I will not stop being butt hurt and I am sorry I do not think the majority of the people who post from their high horses know anything about 4 wheeling. I have seen them on the trail because I went on a few norcal80s runs back in the days. They cannot find a public restroom at a baseball game let alone pick a line or get a rig out of a pickle. I swam in ponds to pull Drexx out while the whole crew did nothing but they hate me. This is not an official tlca or other local lame chapter event and if you want to come follow us in August and help us clean the trail and learn more of its history than just where Norcaldoug used his ham radio to talk to the freedom fighters of costa rica then come on down, meet us at Uncle Tom's and let's boogie. I also have seen more alcohol drunk on the trail by every pootalker in this thread than me in the last 20 years. I drink at camp and enjoy my life and that is my choice. I seriously think you guys are 4 wheel drive charlatans and have no idea about what you are talking about, and no you do not own the Rubicon trail and I do know the people that take care of it and soem of them who own it. So stuff it and move on, nothing to see here but a thread about doing the trail in August. If you want to crticize my operations - open a thread in chat. This thread is again about wheeling the Rubicon in August, and if have not run the trail before you cannot come with us. I already apologized for even making it sound like an official run, OMG - why don't you just call the ACLU? Is that mfng "snakes on the plane clear" to Norcaldoug and Lukezero? And next time anybody wants me to deliver something to an even for them don't ask me even if I am happening to go through Sacramento and I will not help you change that tire or bring you a spare birf because you drink hateraide. Have anice weekend and see you in August.

not you Dan, the other attorney - my pittbull named Iggy:popcorn: I am just so offended right now. I spent all of last year, cleaning up trails, 4 wheeling the tires off my rigs, meeting the coolest people ever, and everybody still hates me, ver disappointing and insulting. Not what I would want my children to go through. Maybe I should invite every MR hater to my house, cook them goulash, and rub their feet. Donate to their cause, but I know that they will go home and wake up and blow big black clouds over my parad and rain on it. I mean can everybody please just love me and realize that I am also growing up and I am not a threat to any community and if anything I have helped a lot of communities. Maybe I just do not communicate it the right way? And I am sorry I got excited and I kind of made it sound like an official run but I really go inspired by Marlin and his run and I wanted to give people that same experience where you see more than just obsticles - there are stories and history on that trail - its really amazing and I look forward to it. And one day little baby Mickey Rubicons will be strapped into fj40 seats and I already see it through their eyes. I am just reall having hurt feelings now and I am upset and it is popping my bubblers.
