Thanks everybody for being so gracious and welcoming. We really had a great time and we're looking forward to the next get together!

Another well-crafted and produced joyous occasion in the URE.

It was great to see everyone. Ava had a good time with me walking her around and bossing me around. She also ran away with some cookies and finally fell a sleep when it was time to eat. Congratulation to the organizers like always came up with a great event!

Thanks much for the ones that made it out to the trail workday, too bad we did not really get to do anything, but we did show up and get counted for, and that there is the biggest thing for the FS.

Good times all. Big thanks to Kenny, Lydia, and John (and family) for hosting. Stellar as usual. Wish we could have spent the night and indulged in the famous breakfast feast at the barn. Thanks to Todd for the video work and Keefers for the hard work on the food. And of course, thanks to all the others who put this together. Good job Darin on the TL seminar - we enjoyed it!

One last thing, did anyone find a RH black glove? Brand is Wells Lamont. Think I must have dropped it at some point.

Great "Meet and Greet" everyone!

Enjoyed seeing some folks I hadn't seen in a while, and meeting a great group of new members. I wasn't sure if I spoke with Stephon, but Brian's pic said I did. Still missed seeing some regulars; the Rymer's, Terry from Cary, Charity, Meatball, Allen, Eric J and Hannah and Garrett, etc, etc. But you guys missed some fantastic pig, thanks Ramon! And thanks Brian and Heather for getting the meal together, and John Vee for the best sound system the barn has ever had. Thanks Sean for all the help with fires and clean up. Darin, that was a very good "tread lightly" meeting. And a special thanks goes to Todd for all your hard work on the "Logan's Run" video and presenting it to the club. That made my weekend!

Now, yes Ramon, we have the glove. Martin, we have your sleeping bag! I sent a 6' cord home with Al that was used for the video, figuring it was John Vee's or Todd's. Let me know how you want this stuff returned. If anyone else is missing something, let me know. We probably have it.

A special thanks to Mr. Free for fixing my RC car! I enjoyed meeting your pops!

Martin, Johnny, and Mike > Friday night was a blast! I have one of you guys punch used on the burn barrel.

And Bill Wright & Jeri, you will always have a special place in my heart! Please come back ASAP!

Sorry, no pics by me! I was too busy having fun...

Kenny

So, as my Presidential duties (did he just say doody?) I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the Meet and Greet and thank John, Lydia, and Kenny for hosting yet another great event at the Barn!

I also want to correspondingly apologize to those I did not get a chance to welcome and personally talk to for an extended amount of time, due to checking on the Pig. I believe Ramon and I were doing the same thing, so that we, collectively (with Bill's help!), kept a set of eyes on it at all times!

It does amaze me, that come and go, new members join and add to the group and old ones return after a long absence, but we remain a solid bunch of friends who can get together and share a few hours of our (and our families') time together. I can't think of another place where I can just let my two girls run rampant and not worry about what they're getting into, because my ONSC family has eyes everywhere!

This is much the reason I've got a lifetime membership, and sacrifice much of my time to ensure that these events go well and everyone feels welcome. Most of the time, Heather and I think that each meeting/event/ride could go better than what has already transpired, and we add to the next. Hopefully, the collective thinks the same.

Thanks to Todd, our adopted Toyota brother, who worked so diligently on getting us a wonderful video. I watched it later on Sunday evening since I did not get a chance at the Meet and Greet. I think it accurately relayed what the ride is about and what Logan stood for, and what he would have wanted us to do.

We usually do a short introduction to the Board, but I think the video took precedent, and we were missing 2 BOD members.

Here's to a future great 2013!

More good Pics...

I can't take credit for them, Heather spent some time snapping them! I kinda made her mad by posting some, but I wanted to get some up quick. The perfectionist in her wouldn't have posted until they were cropped to her liking!

So here's a few pics from yesterday's Tread Lightly training, from Darin...

I thought a random guy came and taught it. No beard!!
I see you guys/gals had a blast. Sucks I couldn't make it.

I had an IDEA

That has taken seven years gestation.

Ever since I jumped in the MUD over six years ago I've had trouble keeping up with names/screen names/trucks/locations because I only see my LC wheeler friends on random occasions but I see them often on the boards.

SO: How about a scheme to help coagulate the screen personae with the live people.
My screen name is my real name. That happened because when I first signed up I didn't know about screen names, not because I was forward thinking.
Some of us have put our real name or first name or nickname in our sig line.
It would be most helpful for recognizing and remembering people from one get-together to the next if more people would do that.
I group with folks from four or five different clubs. Maybe ONSC can start a very useful movement.

I mean . . . Is this really a place where anonymity is desirable?

And thanks to Kenny and Lydia and all the rest for allowing us senior privileges and giving over the handicap suite once again. It really improves my chances for getting my partner to accompany me.

And finally: Kenny- I love you man. Every time I see you I see Logan. Logan was the coolest kid I've ever known. And that's saying something because my kids are pretty cool.
And Lydia- mom, nurse, kitchen czar and the one that makes sure it's all there- you are the best Den Mother ever.

See you guys next time, looking forward to it.

Upon review I see that it's more general here on ONSC than elsewhere so maybe I'm preaching to the choir but perhaps this will be an inspiration to the rest of the Mud world. ONSC are leaders in lots of other things so it's appropriate.

Yeah for the most part we all spend soo much time together that we all know each other by now. We have, for the most part, 3 events every month. 1 regional meeting, one group event and a trail clean up at Uwharrie. When a new member comes into the fold it generally only takes that one meeting. That and many of us do put our names in the sig and we are a pretty chatty bunch in this forum so they tend to stick.

We did used to do an introduce yourself and your truck back in the day at the meet and greets but haven't done in in the last 3 years.

is this video from logans last year going to be posted?

Scott Clark is working on that but it is too long for most of the hosting sites they use.

Todd was talking about putting it up on vimeo and linking it.

I'm sure we can work on getting it on ours but we are in the middle of moving it and changing the format right now.
