mechanical oil gauge - steel braided?

    is steel braided tube necessary for installation? i'm kind of feeling like it should be, but not sure on length. anyone out there installed one give some advice? the longest summit seems to offer is 72".

    Not necesary .. in my case with my VDO gauge I use a coper line, prefeer itm vs plastic lines ..

    i've ordered up some copper line for the engine bay and will run plastic tubing in the cab. it was cheaper this way too. will have to figure out the connection from copper to plastic. shouldn't be too difficult.

    Just run copper right to the gage and eliminate an extra potential leak...
